Another positive for Brie, she never ruins her opponent's moment!
It would be easy to retire down 0-6 0-5. But, Brie fights to the end.

Wellington, NZ 10K, Qr1:Jung-Yoon SHIN (KOR) (10) defeated Brie WHITEHEAD (USA) 6-2 6-2 Okay, I can't even diss Brie any more. Finally, in the last few months, she's doing the right thing, which is getting down and dirty and entering 10K qualies. But you'd think that at this level, she could win a match now and then. That Diamond Jackson has a lot to answer for, because beating her made Brie think she was a real tennis pro with a real future. Speaking of DJ, she seems to have become a porn star.

I think she was a porn star before her match... 4 games Now Brie needs to stop drawing seeds and start drawing the Kiwi Diamond Jacksons! There has to be at least one!

Brie needs to play the Middle Eastern 10k's that are starting now. She could definitely win a match in some of them.

at Google search results for Diamond Jackson! I remember when the first hit was, like, itftennis.com. Not "Billy Glide And Diamond Jackson : Seduced By A Cougar ... Chris Charming And Diamond Jackson : Naughty America."

Expectations have risen. Brie should be winning multiple matches in a calendar year if she keeps playing shit 10k's with 128 Q draws like this.

Lateefa.
Brie lost to Devidze 0 and 1 later in the day, but still, a great week.

Maybe Brie will break her record of one win this year! On the other hand, Devidze is a terrible player. Winning just one game from her is awful. But understandable, given the heady excitement of the big win earlier in the day.

Devidze played a Gorodetsky last week, and she also got 1 game.
So, Salome had bagel girl practice and still couldn't get it done vs. Brie.

The 4 players Brie beat in her career:
- Diamond JACKSON (USA) (her only pro match was her match against Brie) - Elizabeth DOLAN (USA) (who has won 3 matches in her career, all in qualifying) - Alexandra WALTERS (AUS) (only 3 matches won as well, including one against... Brie) - Queen Lateefa BROWN (her first and probably only pro match)

Brie also beat some 13 year old named Doris in the consolation event from some Aussie 25k.
Walters is easily the biggest scalp. She's actually competitive in lame Aussie challengers every year.
Brie will win a 2nd match in 2009, and the world will combust. She's improved leaps and bounds. And she's a better volleyer than everyone at the WTA level.
If Brie is reading, I suggest doing a scissor kick like Petr Korda after every win. Enjoy your success.
