Whew, Sweta tried to give that away but Serena was just as awful. Maybe a chance still. No.

Well it's pretty late/early here soooo ... I might not make sense.
Serena always forces you to win on your own late in a Slam. This is something I like.

I can't fault Serena. Even while barely caring at all and canoodling with z list celebs, she still cares more about winning than these pathetic losers. She deserves it.

Verdasco is playing really well. Something caused him to be a much better ball striker in the offseason. He needs to lose, though, Rafa would destroy him. At least Tsonga would have a puncher's chance.

I haven't been able to watch any matches. Can somebody give me a rundown on what to expect from Nadal-Verdasco? The scorelines of Nadal's matches certainly look promising, as do the 37 times he's walloped Verdasco. Can I hope for a serious case of the Lames from Verdasco, or is he lighting it up this tournament and finally might not buckle when most expected to?
(I'm probably the only one here that wants Nadal to win the tournament. Humour me)

Phew. I don't mind Verdasco. Not even at all. I've sort of always liked him in that He'd-Be-Awesome-If-Not-So-Lame sort of way. So, I'm pleased to see his success. But it must end, for the sake my tennis happiness.

Verdasco will lose fairly quickly, I think, after rafa gives away the first set as a thank you for the Davis Cup thing. Silliams has become ED's batch and ED will take her out.

Post by leelee on Jan 28, 2009 9:56:55 GMT -5
Verdasco's backhand seems much improved, and his 2nd serve isn't a puffball anymore.
But, from the backcourt, he plays a similar game to Nadal, and Rafa is better in every way (except net, which is insignificant). I also don't think Verdasco has the ability to flatten high balls consistently for winners. Thus, easy straight sets.
I don't care who wins. They're all fine. Except Roddick, for television reasons.

I almost said that none of those three times were in events which get her in the almanac, but the almanac, much like myself, is obsessed with the Olympics. :red:
Nevertheless...this is a Slam and I am very skeptical that both Serena and Elena will change their Slam patterns, which are, respectively, winz and suckchokelost.
