I understand Garbin/La Razz. They have two French girls left. Fine. But for the second women's match you pick...STOSUR/DEMENTIEVA?
Yes, it's the 11 AM match, but...oooooooooookaaaaaaaaay.

It's not an exaggeration that RG is dead at 11am. I understand why RG puts whatever on then.
But, I do not agree with putting whatever FRA player on the main court. They're not like AUS, and have no players. They have more than USA lately. The US Open gets crap, but they're not putting Mattek, Harkleroad, Fish, Donnster types on Ashe.

Why do I always end up rooting for Lena D in Slams? It only sets one up for disappointment. It's no different than Vee fans claiming she'll win the AO/RG every year.

ED You won your gold medal, now just go away and stop making things hideous.

But in the shorter term, her exit benefits STOSUR!

Yes, that made me want to gouge my eyes out as well. But, a Razzano run to the QF could possibly come out of this as well. Allez!

Haas won. Is this revival #3425436?

JJ vs Grothosova was horrible. JJ still hasn't faced an opponent who can actually keep the ball in play. I am afraid she won't be able to lift her game when it matters, she hasn't been tested at all so far.

Maybe she needed those early easy matches, though, to start building some confidence. So it might not be all bad. Meanwhile, how is Kohlschreiber up a set? I might have to start actually watching for the first time today.

Demented was lucky to get this far. She's blown righteously since her Aussie hot streak.
Monfee' run here is shocking. He could barely move 6 weeks ago, then suddenly comes back and is darting around again. Hmm.

MJMS is up a set. Is this where the playbook is brought in?

Even if MJMS wins this, her win will be TAINTED because she cheated to get the deciding break in the first set. But in a way it serves Serena right because trying to kill your opponent isn't exactly sportswomanlike either.
Also, I didn't remember MJMS to be a serve-and-volleyer.

Meanwhile, Kohl is working hard on the choke of the century. Nice waste of a 5-2 40-0 lead.

Two great points for Nole to hold. 5-4 now. CHOKE.

So, what happened? Babygurl tried to drill through MJMS and the ball went out, but clipped MJMS's arm, the umpire didn't see it, she didn't say anything and Babygurl lost the point? That's good. I think it's ridiculous to try to hit the opponent, even though most people seem to think it's a legitimate tactic. Like Arantxa once said, it means you have no RESPECT, and so you don't deserve any respect either.

No. The ball went back over the net and past Serena with the help of racquet and arm apparently (I didn't see it clearly). Serena apologized, MJMS turned away to receive at deuce and the DUMB umpire said Jeu MJMS although it was obvious it was not a correct shot from the way the ball went over.
