Always missing the sitters.

She deserves to lose now. But she still might win.

Too many errors. But you can't fault her the return that clipped the line at 15-30. She does have to be this aggressive though, right?

Never. Tell hope to get lost!

I think she does, but she's missing the putaways. Just at least get THOSE in the court, and let Serena try to run them down.

Never. Tell hope to get lost! It's not really hope...it's more like uncertainty. Serena is playing really badly at the moment, so Elena can win in spite of herself.

Aggressive, yes. But you don't have to be aggressive with sitters. You hit them safely to where your opponent is not.

And could someone please explain what was significant about the challenge? Many thanks in advance. Serena hit a shot that was on the corner of both lines by...millimeters is not an exaggeration. And OMG ELENA YOU ARE SUCHA WHOREKNDWKOWDNODKNW Anyway. That point would have given her 7-6 5-3 and serving. Thanks you, Burley.

Well, 3-3. She has to hold here, otherwise I don't think she has a prayer.

Oh, so this is how it ends. 9-7 in the third, saving a matchpoint. Good effort, Lena.

Elena was a million times better than usual and yet she played a bit tentatively when it mattered, e.g. on her match-point. Okay, Serena's volley still clipped the top of the net, that lucky bitch. But in the end a deserved win.

I dunno, I think I would be less disappointed with 6-1 6-1, after all thats what I expected. Shows what we know, anyway.

But in the end a deserved win. Yeah, they both played great. Of course, Serena will say she only played at 10% or whatever, but hey.

If I was a huge Dementieva fan that might have been remote throwing time. Thankfully, I only lik her a little.

I'm not a Dementieva fan at all, but that was difficult to watch. In a way it's good Justine retired and JJ sucks too much to go deep in tournaments.

Forget us -- how Elena must feel!
Oh well...someone on Facebook is commenting that they're going to boycott the final if Venus wins, and that it's like the Yankees winning the World Series every year in the 90's. And, like...yeah, I'm not going to drag my ass out of bed to watch the match, but, if they won, they deserve it. That's sports. They're not going to throw a match or have shit fixed against them (DAWN MAREE) just because some people are bored.
The best win, period. Elena had her chances, and she wasn't good enough on them. Too bad.
