We're overrating Kim. Tina managed to beat her in 2002 when she was not confident and hated tennis. I think Kim is about as good as she was then. Despite being #1 now, I think Kim of today is worse than 2003-04 Kim. Tina can break down Kim's ugly forehand. And Kim isn't moving great. I doubt she can overpower Tina. Tina can win. Fight, Tighty Buns. Martina beat Kim at Sydney when Martina didn't hate tennis as much as she did post-AO. Not that this match indicates anything anyway. And I disagree about Kim being worse than before. She just won a slam.

I, uh, know that. Just saying that she choked. That was exactly the type of play that cost her the AO final 2002. Have a huge lead, wait for errors, lose. Only difference: Jen sucks less than Sam. She didn't choke though. She won the match. Straight sets, too. Don't really think the doom and gloom is necessary, especially seeing as how it was her ninth match back. She got the job done, and of course it wouldn't be good enough against a better player, "choking" or not.

Yes.
What I was trying to say is that I didn't like her attitude, which was "I must not lose". I would prefer "what the hell" so that she keeps playing her game no matter what the score. She has nothing to lose, but it looked differently.

I agree. Set 1 was free-flowing. Set 2 was no-missey. AO '02 is a apt comparison but I brought up the mother of all "let's see if I can wait this out instead of going for my shots" matches, FO 99 final.

She didn't have a huge lead in the second.

She was up 5-3 plus a break several times, which adds up to one big fat lead.

I think she was sucking before then, but I'm tired, and this sort of post match analysis isn't really my thing, is it.
