Unbelievable! Well done Del Potro. He did to Federer what Roger has done to so many players in grand slam finals and that's winning clutch tiebreaks and then taking the fifth set. Great match. Well done to both players.

I'm glad to see that I had absolutely no idea what I was talking about earlier, in regards to DP's chances. This is what happens when you don't watch a player all summer. Oh, DP. No chokes. Forget that Argy's aren't allowed to win the USO. Rules are made to be broken and Del Potro broke yours. Beating Nadal and Federer back to back to win a grand slam singles title without a day off is a herculean effort by Del Potro.

It literally sounded like that dude had interrupted his own speech to read out a car advert. And he ignored poor Pony at first when he asked to say a few words in Spanish! The USO has the worst presentations.
Beating Rafa and Roger back to back to win your first Slam...it really doesn't get any better than this. So happy for Pony, also want to point out that he was mine first.
Three five-setters out of four Slam finals on the men's side. HISTORY~~~ in the other. This is really a golden age for men's tennis.

Cat - this is the tournament where somebody called Justine "Christine" in the trophy presentation. That is the exact moment at which point the USO should have ceased to exist. Of course, I'm quite glad that it didn't, or else this: First time Jacket lost a Grand Slam final to a player other than Nadal couldn't have happened. Again, I am thrilled to find that I had no idea what I was talking about. It's about time we had a new slam champion.
