I like the combination of forwards in Team Canada. A pretty good mix age-wise. But I like the defense to be a bit youthful than.
Go Canada!!!!!!!!!

I think Team Canada has a lot of depth whoever they picked. So it's great. The concerned for the Swede is goaltending, otherwise, they have loads of firepower and good Ds. BTW, Tommy Salo is no longer an NHLer, he'll be playing with Swedish team MoDo next season. If there's no NHL season next year, it's likely that there'll be more names added to the MoDo roster, like Naslund and Forsberg, me think.

The World Cup 2004 will probably be the last opportunity for the so called golden generation of Swedish ice-hockey, i.e Sundin, Forsberg, Lidström, Näslund, Alfredsson, Norström et al. to win something big. But don't count on it they have a penchant for going out in the QF's after playing very well in the preliminary stages, a.k.a. the warm-up matches in Canada and USA. This time they only have to win three matches out of six to please me (I'm generous ), i.e the QF, the SF and the F. That's a fair deal, don't you think? It's a shame Swedish coach Hardy Nilsson seems to hate my cult-fav Micke Nylander, very weird since Nyllet is always good on the national team. And why does he insist on selecting f-ing Jörgen Jönsson who's always crap when he's surrounded by the big guns from NHL. Well, at least Belarus is not in this tourny Still after more than two years.

I like Nylander too but it seems he's not very popular amount coaches.

I like Nylander too but it seems he's not very popular amount coaches. They are too obsessed with destructive players .

Well, at least Belarus is not in this tourny Still after more than two years.[/quote] Ouch. I try to forget that one too. I don't know about the other players, but the Swede Canucks all said they have high expectation and won't let this one slip. Hope so... as long as they beat everyone else but the Canadians . Only 10 days away and counting down.

I haven't recovered from Salt Lake City when it comes to hockey. Hopefully now is the time. Perhaps I should even splash out on some tickets . They say Forsberg has injury problems again. Doesn't he always?

Doesn't he always? How expensive are the tickets? That Belarus thing was a big farce. Foppa should play at MoDo again.

And there is also this suspect(?) site, www.biljettnu.se, which resales in demand tickets for more than twice the original price. . They of course still have tickets for Swe-Cze for the modest price of 1195 SKr.

Nassy scored in both game . Sounds like that surgery & recovery had gone well and he's over that slump of last season end, yeah. USO and WCH both on in the next 2 weeks. I already have panda eyes resulting from watching the olympics. It's not enough time in a day to watch all those sports :red: .

There's coverage in US except on Sept 4-6 which I consider few of the best matchups. Canada vs Russia Finland vs Sweden Russia vs Slovakia plus one of the QF in Europe Division.

Last warm-up for Sweden. Cze-Swe, in Prague, 5-3. Markus Näslund(third game in a row!) and Mats Sundin x 2 scored for Svedala. Peter Forsberg is in Montreal to get specially made fittings(?) for his skates. Now for the competitive warm-ups, the QF placing(?!)games??? , next week. Why can't they have proper competition from the start, like in soccer?

First game of WCH: Finland beats Czech Republic 4-0 in Helsinki. Tonight it's Swe-Ger in Stockholm. And Can-USA in Montreal.

Swe-Ger 5-2. Holmström, Mats Sundin, Kim Johnson, Marcus Nilson and Modin scored for Sweden. I watched tennis instead . And this is a bad omen. Sweden never wins tournaments if they start too well. It's a statistical fact. Well, hopefully they lose tomorrow vs. Cze, then we're not doomed

lol. Sweden always play great when it doesn't count . Markus shot a lot, but didn't score. Anyhow, they said Sundin is in mid season form and Salo is playing well, hope they keep going good. I still have to watch the Can-USA game to find out the score. I've only watch 15 mins of hockey and 30 mins of tennis so far, still have 4 hours of hockey and 9 hours of tennis on tape to watch before I go to bed .

No no no, I'm still watching, sort of...while also busy posting. And why is Team Canada wearing a very ugly looking yellow jersey . But you can tell me how Jovo is hurt, if you know. I heard he's out of the game but I was on the phone in the first part of the game and didn't pay much attention to the game.
