USian soccer announcing is the worst ever. I want this team to lose so badly. The ESPN radio broadcast of the American soccer teams' games at the World Cup is broadcast from the ESPN studio's in Connecticut and not from South Africa where the World Cup is taking place. ;D

Seven months ago, from another thread: Serbia's group is pretty evenly-matched, but I would say you guys are indeed 4th out of 4 there. But a close 4th. Hurley, predict that Justine is going to win Bimbly, please. And USA, please, KILL Ghana. Stomp on them. Demolish them. Eat their children and dance on their grave.

Sad day for Jugoslavs. I didn't follow the Aussie-Srbija match but how the hell do you go from killing one of the best teams in the tournament to not even being able to tie the worst team in your group. Srbija was my pick for the semis. Also, England and Italy: Please make like the French and plotz.

I didn't follow the Aussie-Srbija match but how the hell do you go from killing one of the best teams in the tournament to not even being able to tie the worst team in your group. Australia got completely dismantled in the first half. Serbia had 3-4 great chances to score, it could have easily been 2-0 at least. But they missed everything. That's what we lack the most - a really good forward player who is certain to score whenever the opportunity presents. And then in the second half they ran out of gas, panicked or I don't know what, they backed down and Australia pressured more and more and scored 2 goals on three chances. Or half-chances even. Serbia had like 7-8 of those. But that's football. It happens.

2-1! Di Natale! Nice rickus in the back of the net there, and of course an Italian goes down as if he was shot. SVK is panicking!

2-2 goal called back -- offside! How much better this is than that 67-67 thing.

Both finalists from last time around are out! That offside call on what would've been the equalizer is going to cause lots of controversy

Group H is weird. One of Chile, Spain or Switzerland could miss out qualifying despite winning 2 out of 3 matches.

They should combine football and gymnastics. After the game has ended, a judging panel should evaluate all the dives and give out marks for difficulty, execution and artistic impression, and those scores should be added to the actual score.

I'm happy for Ghana. The US team was like the Flyers in the SC playoffs; they finally ran out of juice for yet one more amazing comeback. Or so I imagine, having watched only 1 minute of this World Cup since it started.

GER are getting a little SEWTA.
Spoke too soon. WORST FREE KICK EVER.

Less about the free kick than ENG's complete ineptitude what to do after the fact that they couldn't get it in.
And now 4-1, so that problematic goal doesn't even come close to mattering. That's at least...nice.
