Utterly unbelievably, Pavlyuchenkova will be Top 15 after this tournament.

Wow-nic! I concur. Good for that guy! I actually went out and drank a beer with other people, so I missed it. Too bad.

Why does Nadia have so many Australian fans? There must be at least three.

Okay, I'm one for two in my upset calls today. I'll take it.
Did Tsonga run out of gas? Those last two sets are wretched.
I'm a bit sad that he did lose. He's had such a good run in Australia the last three years (F, QF, SF).
Kim sucked today, huh? She was lucky she was playing somebody who could not capitalize. Although, I think Cornet's moonball/topspin forehand might have had something to do with all her errors.
Peng 6-1 3-6 6-3. Made it a little scary, but a win is a win.

Vera Zvonareva has yet to drop a set in Australian Open 2011, but was seriously pushed in her 6-3 7-6 (9) third round victory over Czech left-hander Lucie Safarova on Saturday.
Matt Cronin, wake up.

Mak is going to grind out another long three-setter? She leads 7-6 and has the important advantage of serving first.
Peer broke Pennetta for 4-3 in the second set. I did not think she'd win this. I think I tend to overrate Pennetta.

I called that! The Mak Attack!
I don't agree with you, Willow. Kim will probably win, like, 92% chance. But if she plays like she did today, Mak'll pick her off. So she better hit the ball within the lines in her next match.

I called that! The Mak Attack! Ditto! And poor Chak, doesn't even own her nickname any more WTF happened to Tsonga in the last two sets? A-Pav will never amount to anything, for real. The news that Raonic is a bug-serving Canadian Ivo just makes me want to avoid him as long as possible. Anyway, just woken up bleary-eyed to a very even Stosur/Kvitova match...about the most first-strike tennis I've seen this year, men included. Petra playing a pretty bad TB so far, but still time to come back...

Haha, as soon as I play that, they play a rally where they slice like 15 BHs at each other before Kvitova whacks it out out out.

Struck by how light Kvitova's touch is at the net. She's route-one cavewoman hit-winner-now basher from the baseline, but at net she almost always goes for a touch volley rather than whacking the ball.

Beautiful tennis from Kvitova. She's hitting angles, volleys, anticipating amazingly well...actually I don't think she is just the cavewoman ballbasher of yore, she's really improved her tactics and ability to work points.

So weird to think that this time last year, at the age of 29, STD hadn't ever made it to the second week of a Slam. Now he's made four straight.
Tomic suddenly playing really well, 3-0 up in the second. TBH Rafa's been way too passive all match, the first set wasn't close but it wasn't overwhelming either.
