But surely you called E-kat because Petrova is useless, and even then it was very close. I didn't see any evidence she will trouble Kimbaps, unless she plays 9000 notches below. Which she probably will now.

I see Tomic is one of those male players who insists on wearing a t shirt with elbow length sleeves, then spends the whole match pulling them up on his shoulders. I think Sampras invented this.

Some people are suggesting Rafas t shirt is soaked in sweat, yet his shorts are strangely unaffected. I prefer janies theory.

Yeah, first I thought it was sweat-soaked, but wait, sweat doesn't make shirts shiny like that. Nice color for Rafa, and anyway, thankfully, he finally put Bernie away. I feel bad for Sam Stosur. Just last night Pam Shriver was writing her into the final and maybe even the title. Oops!

For those who were watching: Rafa wasn't playing that well, but still put douche away in straight sets? Approve.

Speaking of calm and composed, Milosh looks like he's almost falling asleep when he plays. Heading off now to see if there's an interview; I want to know if the guy can talk! He was very, very quiet out there for a guy who's upsetting yet another seed.

Q. You were very calm out there. I'm told that hasn't always been the case on court. Is this a conscious change?
MILOS RAONIC: Yeah, it's something that's been talked about many times between myself and my coaches, especially my coach now, Galo Blanco. We've sat down numerous times and had a heart to heart talk about this. This was almost the reason why I lost last round in the quallies. I was able to change it around.
I've been keeping it together. I feel it's a thing I have to stay on top of myself to keep together, but I know I can keep it together.
Q. Is it hard to suppress your emotions?
MILOS RAONIC: No, because I'm not getting angry. That's the thing. It's not like I'm hiding. I'm not getting angry. I'm seeing everything clearer, able to play the big points better instead of being sporadic, getting more caught up in the previous points.
I'm able to think point by point next point, sort of try to figure out what I want to do, try to dictate as much as I can.

It's only really fun to hate on people if they are actually any good. Like that hate affair you had with Hewitt. That was fun ;D Yeah, that was a great hate affair! When he won Wimbledon -- aargh, even now I can't stand to think about that. I'm sure I could hate him like that again if he'd reach a Slam final or beat Fed or Rafa in a Slam QF or something like that, but that's not in the cards. Of course I continued to hate Kournikova as she plummeted down the ranks; I had fun hating her right up till she retired. But then she hadn't been through hip surgery; that kind of thing takes the air out of even the strongest hate balloon. Back to Tomic -- he's so young, I can't say that I'll hate him much. Nole wasn't too likable at that age, either, but I have nothing against him now.

Well, that Kvitova result...that just makes me wanna go out and have a party. I'm not thrilled about the result itself, but reading what Lex had to say about her game really piqued my interest. I hadn't even known she's a lefty till Nav kept going on about it. I love lefties. I'm now Kvitty's big fan and hope she'll win the tournament.

Well if not, there's always Barbora Strycova and Nasty Rodionova!
Meanwhile, Nadal on the match:
``I think I started playing well, but he's the kind of player who can make you play bad,'' Nadal said. ``I have to play a bit better if I want to get to the quarterfinals.''

Yeah, I agree with Rafa's assessment. It's what people used to say about Murray, too (and Myskina, and Hingis). It looked like Rafa was playing too passively, not doing enough to put Tomic away, and I wondered whether he might be ill, but watching someone like Tomic for the first time it's easy to overlook what they're doing.
Also Tomic didn't really behave like a douche at all!
