That dress hides her shoulders. At least she finally figured it out. Also, it never hurts taking pics with Sweta.

It took her long enough. Though to be fair, I didn't understand that I shouldn't wear spaghetti straps until I was almost in my mid 20's, too.

But you have boobs with your big shoulders, so it's kinda ok.

Kinda, but still not really. I see photos of stuff that I used to wear 4 years ago and gah.. boobs or no boobs, it could have been so much better! Anyway, Maria might have boobs to go with her big shoulders, too, were she 30 pounds heavier. Maybe?
Regardless, I'm going tomorrow to try to buy tickets again. I tried last week, but couldn't find the ticket booth. I did find three other ticket booths though, so that was neat.

I found the ticket booth today, so I will be going to the Russia vs Italy tie on Sunday. I'm not sure which part is more embarrassing - that I got lost looking for Fed Cup tickets, or that I actually ended up buying Fed Cup tickets. Hard to say.

Sadly, it won't be much of a show for Chloe. Schiavone and Pennetta are both out for Italy. The other semifinal will be a bit closer, even without Ste-Kim and Safarova.
The highlight of the weekend will probably be the photos of Villiams on the sidelines, probably in a wheelchair or in traction.

Yeah, I noticed that the lineup blew before I bought the tickets, but I also figured: what else am I going to do on Sunday? Don't expect very good reports, is all

Now that Yeltsin has passed on, yeah, I would be surprised to see anyone there but Chloe (hopefully not in the company of her creepy old male colleagues).

Seriously though, I'm obviously going alone. I was too embarrassed to ask other people to come.

I will probably still go, but I'm probably not going home the night before, so I'm going to be totally stank. Fed Cup doesn't deserve a shower anyway, right?

Well...this weekend may have killed Hantuchova for good. In front of her home crowd, she lost both of her singles rubbers...then, in the deciding doubles, she and Rybarikova managed to lose from a set and 5-1 up, 7-9 in the third Maybe it'll help JaJa, though! Apparently BAG was nowhere to be seen during the Serbs' celebrations

BAG had a tummy injury, so I assume she could have been out there. That tie went about as well as possible.
Also, USA is finally dead in Fed Cup. With Vee sitting bored on the sideline, there for no other than fulfilling her Olympic requirements.
Fine results, I must say.

It is nice that the CZEs didn't choke for once; we now actually have a final between the two deepest countries in women's tennis, IMHO.

Poor Venus had to sit and watch THAT? US 0-5? Wow, how awful for her. I hope she got out and got a chance to do other Stuttgart stuffg.

So did Chloe go? First I saw of this exciting development! What fun for the Russkies to have a fan in the stands, cheering loudly (I'm sure) in newly-learned Russian!

And Lindsay reminded us every time the camera was on her that Vee was only there for the Olympics. I don't think the usual USian Fed Cup stalwarts appreciate that much.

Well...this weekend may have killed Hantuchova for good. I've been thinking that about various events in her career over the past 5 years or so, but she keeps hanging around, winning just enough matches to make a decent living and stay on tour.

I see that E.Bouchard played both singles ties vs Slovenia and actually picked up a point (vs Zec-Pescaric). Close call for the Slovenes, who won it with the doubles point.

I came here looking for details on the "DRAMAA!!11" that ensued. Something about Ivanovic and Hantuchova and respect, JJ & BAG hating each other, etc. But, NOTHING tops Chloe attending Fed Cup. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Yeah.... awkward. I was out until dawn on Saturday and unable to attend on Sunday, even though I was only as subway stop away. A great way to spend $30! I debated going an hour late, but now see that it's just as well I didn't.

I see that E.Bouchard played both singles ties vs Slovenia and actually picked up a point (vs Zec-Pescaric). Close call for the Slovenes, who won it with the doubles point. I saw all 5 matches except the Hercog Bouchard match which I skipped after the first set, cause I felt sorry for Bouchard. She really was nervous and it showed. I don't know how many of you watched the matches online but these are my observations. I was easily the most impressed with Sharon Fichman. Yes she only played doubles, which was also the best quality match of the weekend, but she was really entertaining. Positive, pumping herself up, great hands at the net and not afraid of the bigger names on the other side. With her backhand she was frequently aiming at Hercog's and Srebotnik's body and was mostly being successful. Hilariously she also served the only ace for her team, despite being just slightly taller than the tennis net. Marino's serve is superb - if the matches had been played on hard court she would've won them easily. Her movement on clay is clumsy, sliding after hitting the ball and thus reaching(or not) the next ball very late. Her volleys are bad especially off her backhand side and that made for an easy target in the doubles match. Other than that I think she can easily reach the top 30. Just needs to stay away of the net. Bouchard - just like Fichman she found herself comfortable on clay. Still not very consistent and not always willing to be agressive, she was looking very bad in her match against Hercog. After the first set I left, it was just one way traffic and Eugenie was being quite upset about her performance. She was not that much better the next day, made many mistakes but was lucky to be playing against someone with no confidence and a rather slow and unimaginative game, so she eventually prevailed. They both served very badly and the match was one of the worst I have ever witnessed, mostly because of Zec-P who was just plain awful. Eugenie was sweet and she needed the win badly cause the commentators said there were some quarrels within the Canadian team and the main topic was apparently Bouchard playing the singles rubbers. If the slovene commentators are anyhow trustworthy Eugenie also cried for the rest of the day after losing against Hercog which also made for some controversy in her team whther she's mentally stable enough to play the decisive match. As far as I'm concerned - big for Sharon Fichman. I also saw her play a 100k final somewhere in Italy when she was on the verge of top 100 and remember being equally entertained. ;D
