A plaster? For mouth ulcers? I was actually going to say that, but I thought no one would get it. Yes! The gel never did anything for me. But then I went on holiday to like Majorca or somewhere circa 1995 and they had these weird and wonderful patches you put on them..... BAM. Problem solved for the rest of my life. Brushing my teeth straight after fruit smoothies also helps.

Woz will say in her presser that she is fatigued, and one of the hacks present had better retort "well what the fuck did you think you were doing playing 9498439420 consecutive weeks on clay before a Slam".

TF has collapsed. Database error. ;D It's possible that Woz is as hated as Henin was over there. So I'm sure they're having a field day trashing her.

Woz can't really do much when someone plays half decent against her, can she.

What a great day!! Now I just need Sharapova to lose, so this event will be completely enjoyable on the SEWTA side. SEWTA FTW!

I'll be astounded if Woz says that. We'll see! Interview with Kuz on TTC! Corina Morariu is looking fantastic.

Kuz is looking really good so far. Myskina's flown in to work with her for this tournament which seems to be working out well.

Wawrinka-Tsonga is a joy to watch. Hitting the ball cleanly and some great rallies.

Wuss/Bellz should be a good match in theory but it has blow-out written all over it. No idea in which direction, though. I really need to get some work done though.

Why was Safina pitied instead of being hated like Woz? Did you miss the ubiquitous "She won Rome and Madrid" gif? Safina went through exactly what Woz is going through; if it was slightly less for Safina, it's because Safina can hit a tennis ball and Wozniacki kinda can't. Anyway LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL Serious question: this has to be the first time in SEWTA history both TOP TWO SEEDS AT A MAJOR (lulz) lost prior to 4R, right?

God. I called it in the Day Four thread. I've had a bad feeling for two days and sometimes I would forget what it was about but it was about Woz-Hantuchova!!! I knew that was coming!
I didn't think Stosur would crash out to Dulko, though. I know all about Gisela's upset record but Sam looked good for the first two rounds.
I think the last time Gisela was in round 4 of a Slam she was double bagelled ... by K. Bondarenko? Yes, I think.
So the top half is now Hantuchova-Kuznetsova and Bartoli-Dulko for a place in the semifinals. You would have to give Kuznetsova the experience advantage but she really can lose to anyone at any time.
No French ladies have gone deep here since Pierce in 2005, right? I guess Bartoli has a shot at that.
Jankovic v. Schiavone is scary. Franny better win or ...

I didn't think Stosur would crash out to Dulko, though. I know all about Gisela's upset record but Sam looked good for the first two rounds. Against Benesova and Halep, though. Fran looked really good in her first two rounds too, but by all accounts got super-edgy about Peng's medical timeouts. And JaJa just thrashed someone I thought had a real shot at beating her...that should be a good match, I hope. Hurley has totally distracted me with that 1/2 seeds thing. In Wimbledon '94, of course Steffi went out in 1R, but ASV made it to the 4R before losing to Zina. And Wimbledon '08 when the Serbians were the top two seeds (LOL), BAG lost to Zheng in the 3R but JaJa made it to the 4R before Tammy beat her.

I too doubt that Woz will claim she was , even if she was , since she would have to explain this comment after Brussels: "I'm not tired with the two last matches. I'm in a good shape and i will be ok for Roland Garros." She's savvy enough that she would avoid opening up herself to those types of criticisms, I think. She's got problems enough as it is.

Are Benesova and Halep subpar players for rounds 1 and 2 at a Slam? I was thinking they were actually pretty quality opposition for those stages.
If anyone was interested, Bartoli leads Dulko 4-0 lifetime, 8-0 in sets. They have never played on clay.
Just for thoroughness, Hantuchova trails Kuznetsova 4-7 lifetime, 0-2 clay. No meetings since 2009.
It looks like Tsonga is going to win this, which would be a good win for him. I am sure Roger would have preferred to play Stan what with the crowd factor. Then again, Fed's come through late round matches against Monfils in Paris with flying colors.
It's looking like Vera will exact her revenge for last year but she just dropped serve to hand the break back in set two. No, Vera, don't even think of a collapse. I can't handle the 1, 2 and 3 seeds out before the fourth round.

Vera closes it out 6-2 6-3.
Wawrinka broke back by winning one of the points of the tournament so far. This is such a good match.

Huh. Jankovic leads Fran 3-1 lifetime, but no meetings since one of them won a Grand Slam.
But I was a bit taken aback by Fran's lifetime titles total. 50% of them came in 2010! It took until 2007 and Bad Gastein to win one at all and she still has only four total. 10 times a runner-up, of course. But it seems a bit absurd when you consider that AMG has 10 titles and a similarly streaky player like Schnyder has 11.

Tsonga held to 30 to reach 5-4, but Wawrinka really should have gone up 0-40. Jo-Willy slipped after a volley at 0-15 and if Stan had hit to where he WAS instead of cross court to where he was scrambling he would have won the point for sure.

Are Benesova and Halep subpar players for rounds 1 and 2 at a Slam? I was thinking they were actually pretty quality opposition for those stages. They're subpar players full stop. Iveta does nothing outside of MMs ever, and Halep is useless even by Generation Suck standards. This happens every time, people bandwagon on whichever player routs scrubs in her first couple of rounds without taking into account how bad the opposition is.
