Never seen the WINNER of a match ever get booed like this. Fogs just shrugging, like, whatever - didn't even bother celebrating really. He is amazing though! What a bizarre and quintessentially RG match.
Hopefully Mountains goes away forever now.

Now you all understand my hatred from Montañes, Montañes, he is like an overranked David Sanchez and Alberto Martin

Just as well there was no electricity for 2 hours. If I'd seen the third set I might have broken my television remote in disgust. Fuck you, Vera Zvonareva. Seriously, this is why I don't get up early for tennis anymore. Sleep > the possibility that I might get super-pissed. What happened to your electricity? It's the summer here so there tend to be power outages of 2-3 hours per day. It's worse in other areas of the city though, where they have no electricity for 12 hours everyday. Also, it is ridiculously hot.

Fed wins on an ace. Time for Fran vs JJ. Come on JaJa - time to take out Franny!

LOL! They're showing the closing games of Fognini-Montanes.
Fognini's girlfriend is smoking hot.

Fred Stolle and Wally Masur whining and crying about how an injustice was done at the French today with Fognini winning because Montanes deserved to win.

The way JaJa mopes around listlessly these days makes it awfully hard to continue caring about her.
Maybe she's depressed that no matter what she does in this match, she'll be unable to top Fognini's drama.

JJ is so miserable out there, even up a break.

Maybe it's her monthly cycle affecting her dramatically?

JJ had points for 4-0, flubbed them all, then lost her serve to get to 3-2, then broke again, then went down 0-40 in the next game, then won the next four points, then double faulted, then faced a couple of break points and saved them and now we're here. This is such garbage. Dramatic garbage but garbage nonetheless.

I'm rooting for Cake. As long as Dulko's done her job of being the hottie who causes the token upset, she can bow out now. We have no further use of her.
Is it true that Dulko's never backed up one of her upsets in the majors with a win?

Fran really earning it.
How can you not root for her? She's always trying to do something which makes her better than 99% of the tour.

I watched Fog and Mountains at a bar/grill with Lady. It was only near the end of the match that we realized we had no idea what Mountains actually looked like, because right up until I noticed that the score didn't match the players, I was surprised to find that Moutains was actually rather attractive. He's not, I was obviously confused and thought Fog was Mountains. Yes, this was immensely stupid. Lady gets a pass for being mixed up, because her contact lenses were being funny. I have no such excuse.

Serve-volleying on the 30-30 point and then that wonderful, athletic match point. So great to watch and she takes such joy in it - in everything about tennis, not just the making money or beating the opponent. It seems to make her more herself, if that makes sense. I want her to REPEAT!

FRAN FRAN FRAN I think that we're all in agreement here. Yup, I thought I was ambivalent, but once I started watching the match, I realized that I was wildly in Fran's corner over Jaja. So, Schiavone-Chunkybar. Might be a danger match, but Chunk has never shown any mettle in Slams before today, and Fran won their last match (4R of last year's USO) 2 and 0 or something.

As much as I love FRAN (and I did begin rooting for her when she made shit happen versus JaJa who was whining and crying), I'd probably root for her opponent if she played Bartoli or Sharapova. Against anyone else though, Forza Fran!

Fran is basically the anti-SEWTA and for that we love her. The opposite of the mental weaklings who gag at the slightest hint of an opportunity, the opposite of the unfit lumps who refuse to get fit, the opposite of the pampered divas who act as though playing the sport outside of the limelight is beneath them. And of course the opposite of the one-dimensional, unimaginative players who only know how to either push the ball back mid-court or whack it brainlessly while praying for winners.

Same re: support. Fran destroying Chunkova in that match was one of the most gloriously comprehensive things I've seen on a tennis court. Real tennis!
