I wouldn't mind Maria losing the final to Bartoli. You say that now, but I bet you would mind, Ali. Haha. I don't mind Masha - she's a good enough antidote to the evil Henin's and Williamses of the world, but CAKE trumps Masha.

Toad has just stunk this match. His serve is way off. I maintain Rafa won't win the final.
I'll be surprised if Lee Na doesn't make the final. Just hit a couple angles in and make her move. Win.

Hilariously, Muzza has lost a 5-2 advantage in set two. Yes, that was two breaks! oh! You mean this IS live? I thought they were in set 3 IRL. Abject apologies to ESPN2. Now they are in set 3 IRL. Anduh.

Vintage Rafa towards the end, and he looked way more excited at the end than a routine scoreline would usually make him - he's rediscovered his form I still think he'll lose the final too, but that's because of Hobak's level, not Rafa's.

His reaction said a lot - this could be the rejuvenating win he needs, although he played it safe and waited for the errors.

My dream final of Bartoli-Sharapova is just one round away! Which means it HAS to be a Schiavone-Li final which I'll be fine with so no complaints. I win. One of those finals I would totally watch. You'll never guess!

Yes, Sharapova is going to complete the Career Slam here. Which is gross, considering that Lindsay, Venus, Justine and Kim never could, but hey, this is SEWTA '11. And really, this couldn't have been the only horrendous outcome. Sweata the 3 times Slam champion, Woz or Azza the Slam champions don't really sound like much better options either.
Sigh. Jia you, Li Na.

But I would have loved to see Sweata become a 3-times Slammer. I'd even have liked a Woz win, but only if she played some other game than the game she plays 95% of the time. On the men's side, the TTC announcers today were having a good laugh at Chela being the one misfit in the otherwise stellar men's QF lineup. And so it turned out, of course, but it made me sad to hear them and I wished he, like Woz, would suddenly play differently and show them all up.

His reaction said a lot - this could be the rejuvenating win he needs, although he played it safe and waited for the errors. What else could you do? Soderling made so many so soon. True. He was solid which was more or less what was required today. It'll be interesting to see how he handles Murray, given that he won't get as many free points. Anduh wins! Also, I am assuming I am the only one who has a thing for tennis moms. Perhaps the only one on earth, yes. Yes, although I do not include Oracene Williams or Melanie Molitor in "tennis moms". (I keep forgetting whether the punctuation comes before or after the quotes) My dream final of Bartoli-Sharapova is just one round away! Which means it HAS to be a Schiavone-Li final which I'll be fine with so no complaints. I win. One of those finals I would totally watch. You'll never guess! Clearly our dream finals are not the same. Which means we'll probably get one finalist each. Does this mean no one wins? But I would have loved to see Sweata become a 3-times Slammer. I'd even have liked a Woz win, but only if she played some other game than the game she plays 95% of the time. On the men's side, the TTC announcers today were having a good laugh at Chela being the one misfit in the otherwise stellar men's QF lineup. And so it turned out, of course, but it made me sad to hear them and I wished he, like Woz, would suddenly play differently and show them all up. I don't think Kuz deserves to be a 3-time Slam winner. She's too much of a headcase and makes errors like she doesn't care - also the blown matches against the top players in Slams. While I don't hate her or anything, I'd have been equally happy with both her Slam finals going against her. I remember the commentators saying Washington should be ready to catch a plane home when he was down against Todd Martin in their Wimbledon semifinal in 1996. Then Todd froze and I was happy as can be. Showing up announcers is fun. Haha. I don't mind Masha - she's a good enough antidote to the evil Henin's and Williamses of the world, but CAKE trumps Masha. Ah! I thought you Loved her. I guess that was The Cat, who has been sadly MIA for a long time now. Okay if I'm being mistaken for The Cat for Maria love, then I must calm down with my rooting for her. LI NA FTW. ;D Haha. I don't mind Masha - she's a good enough antidote to the evil Henin's and Williamses of the world, but CAKE trumps Masha. This sentence. I can't find anything to agree with here. At all.
