Yes, I was concerned we'd witness another Dokic collapse but she's keeping it up. This match is interesting.
The Kuznetsova match is awful.

Dulgheru with a shot at Sweta in the next round?

Finally get to see Little Ayumi play. I thought she'd be little. Fun, classic over vs. underachiever match here, though.

Nice fun point by Dokic to hold for 4-1.

Where did the Little Ayumi nickname come from, anyway? She's not particularly little at all.
LOL, Sweta from 5-1 to 5-4.

Sweta finally wins 6-4. Dokic breaks again for 5-1.

Where did the Little Ayumi nickname come from, anyway? She's not particularly little at all. It came from Brinyi, maybe when Ayumi was a little junior. Who knew she'd go and grow up?

Wow! Dokic closes out the 2nd set with great flair. 61! But what comes next?

Ayumi is well built, and average height. Her physique is like Justine's, although maybe that's tainted because the camera ogles the Paszeks 90% of the time. She hits pretty big, too.

They're closing the roof, though! So the high-quality Franny-JD match will continue soon.

I was going to blame Janie for suggesting that Ayumi was little, and inciting me to call her that.

I see that Snotso has decided to lace them up, despite all the falling and slipping and squinting he had to do in Yeastbourne!

I was going to blame Janie for suggesting that Ayumi was little, and inciting me to call her that. I think we saw both a picture of her when she actually was little; in fact I bet it's still somewhere in the junior/challenger forum. And then we extrapolated that into her grown-up years. But yeah, it could've been me who started it. The roof is closed and the covers are off -- all that's missing are the players. And the tennis balls.

A nice nap while they closed the roof! Woke up to see first a Dokic implosion, then a Fran counter-implosion. I'll charitably ascribe it to adjusting to the roof.

Yes, they're both back in the form of the earlier sets! Great to see. But Dokic no longer trusts the line calls after those 2 doozies she successfully challenged earlier. Concentrate on the ball, Jelena!
