Also, when was the last time a Frenchman played with balls in a Slam big match? The only two times I can recall is Tsonga against Nadal at AO '08 and Gassy taking out A-Rod at Wimbledon in '07. And I'm not sure if those count!

I hope so! I'll be rooting for him on Friday.

Murray has to be thinking things are going his way, right? Rafa has the foot injury, Hobak has not impressed, he beat Tsonga the other week...

MariyaKTennis 1 of the most memorable pressers, that guy kept asking Federer mean asinine questions until Federer was tearing up, then Fed went off on him 2 minutes ago via TweetDeck Whoa, presser drama. Can't wait to read more.

Credit to Jo-Willy for not flaking out during a match like he usually does, but that was stubborn Roger at his worst in that 5th set.
I wouldn't read too much in that H2H. 3 of them were in the fall of 2008 when Nole lost to King Ivo. And the AO loss was when he was still wussy Nole in slams.

Yep, but Rafa is cruising past Fish and the last time Murray was a favourite in a Wimbledon semifinal (2009 vs Roddick) we all know what happened. I just hope he can get past Flo without DRAMA!!!111~

Despite my endless Rafa love, Tsonga is another play I'd really love to see winning a slam. I think that such a complete talented player deserves to be rewarded with a major win. His will to volley always endeared me, plus he can defend and be aggressive from the baseline. So I really really want to see him in the final.

A journalist made roger cry?

The only place left for him to cry was the press conference room.

Wow. A shocking loss for Fed. From two sets up!
Good for Jo-Willy, though. Strangely, I had a dream about him that I just woke up from where he told me his actual name was Susan. It was a good dream.
I thought Tomic might be competitive. He was.

No, the presser where a journalist made Fed cry was in 2008 after he lost to Simon. I had no idea.

I can't remember anything else about it! I think it was because I briefly woke up, turned on the tv, saw the match and went back to bed. Didn't think Susan would win, though.

Ridiculous passing shot from Rafa! Mardy can only smile, it was a great point from him, turning defense into offense. Rafa breaks for 1-0

2 break points for Mardy. Rafa kinda checked out of this match.
And Mardy breaks back

Let's talk about the semis!
I used to believe that Tsonga was a future Slam champ. All the injuries and the poor form of the last year started to convince me otherwise. But it seems the ability is still there when he plays well. I see what Leena is saying about the h2h with Djokovic but I think it does matter. Novak will have in his mind somewhere that he rarely has figured this guy out. Plus, grass is still Novak's weakest surface. Surface advantage to Tsonga.
I think the potential for an upset is there.
As for the other semi, if Rafa loses to Murray the world will spin off its axis.

Rafa is obviously the favourite, but it won't be a huge shock if Murray wins imo. He's beaten Rafa in Slams before.

The way they've played thus far, Muzza should beat Rafa. But, odds are with the pressure and Rafa's "injuries", Anduh plays pusheroo once again and folds meekly.

Off topic, but reading Kvitova's presser transcripts...I love her, but she gives the press absolutely nothing to work with, does she. Probably just poor command of English but still, she says nothing of interest ever.

Probably just poor command of English but still, she says nothing of interest ever. She is kinda like that on court as well. She's so mellow, with the exception of her Woof shouts. Yeah, very basic English doesn't help as well.
