I saw Kvitova's interview and it's a poor command of English mixed in with shyness. She comes across as a genuinely sweet girl.
The semis are a foregone conclusion. Nadal d Murray in straight sets. Tsonga d Nole in 3/4/5 sets. I would be shocked if it went 5 sets.

Every on-court interview I've seen Kvitty do, you want to hug her because she's so nervous and shaking.
Nole will beat Tsonga. I guarantee it.

Nole will beat Tsonga. I guarantee it. I suppose if I'm getting an Evil Queen Maria win I have to watch the men's fall apart.

The semis are a foregone conclusion. LOL, no they're not. Rafa is favourite in one but it's not NID and the "upset" would not be shocking (certainly not as shocking as Tsonga over Fed today). The other is 50-50, maybe slight edge to Tsonga IMO but you could easily make a case for Djokovic. It'll be a much more interesting day than today - Tsonga apart everything was a snooze, apart from that brief Tomic surge.

In Nadal-Murray, I just cannot see Murray having a chance. How many times has he blown in a big match. Rafa's injuries sound like St. Kim stuff - he was fine today and said so himself that the foot wasn't an issue. Maybe I'm being extra pessimistic since I'm a Murray fan and have experienced so much failure with him, but I don't think he stands a chance against Murray. The matches will be interesting, I'm sure but I'm fairly confident of the results. Atleast with Rafa-Anduh.

Fed lost from two sets and a break up? Ouch.
I'm hours behind, yes.

As usually I love British press headlines "Wimbledon 2011: I can beat Rafa Nadal this time, states Andy Murray", the louder the better, even if the quotes don't quite match the headlines. www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2011/jun/29/wimbledon-2011-rafa-nadal-andy-murrayAnd yeah I know Rafa all big faker , but his foot is not "fine", he simply can play like that thanks to medication: The Spanish No1 seed added that he did not feel any discomfort during his 6-3, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 victory over Mardy Fish because the foot had been "put to sleep". He added: "My foot is not fine. But we are in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon – it's an emergency. I have to play. So we decided to [put to] sleep a little bit the zone of the foot and play the rest of the tournament. It's the last tournament for a month and a half so I have to try my best."

Glad Jo-Willy took a set. Out of all the players left in the draw, Tsonga is the one I would be least unhappy about Roj losing to. If you want to interpret this as foreboding or a subconscious prediction, I won't stop you!

Seriously. I thought he'd just win a consolation set like Fish.

And yeah I know Rafa all big faker , but his foot is not "fine", he simply can play like that thanks to medication: The Spanish No1 seed added that he did not feel any discomfort during his 6-3, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 victory over Mardy Fish because the foot had been "put to sleep". Being a tad bit defensive, aren't we? No one's questioning the legitimacy of Rafa's injury. But if he is saying the foot is being treated and he doesn't feel discomfort while playing four sets of tennis, then it shouldn't be a major issue in discussing his matchup with headcase Murray. Right?

Right? Yeah, I was afraid that it's gonna come as defensive "on paper". I didn't know how to phrase it so it'd sound more light-hearted because I really didn't take any offense. I can even understand how for a non-fan it's similar to St.Kim situation, even if I always feel that Rafa actually downplays his injuries and Kim kinda exaggerated hers. Off course he can play and move, so I'm not gonna blame Rafa's defeat on that. He simply isn't playing well, but he could raise his level against Andy possibly. Yeah, I think it's gonna be Djokovic vs Murray final, because I want opposite to happen.

Yeah, I think it's gonna be Djokovic vs Murray final, because I want opposite to happen. The defensive question was more tongue and cheek from my end; I should've added a at the end of it. It's St. Kim as in "ZOMG! I'm injured, I'm getting an MRI, I'm playing" from where I'm sitting, but she then harps on about it till she wins the final 6-1, 6-0. With Rafa, he turned around and said he felt alright during his match, no bullshit or theatrics. This is where he differs from St.Kim which is the most important part anyway. ;D I'm rooting for a Murray-Tsonga final but am expecting a Nadal-Tsonga final. With the Murray-Nadal semifinal, atleast one of us is going to be happy with the result. It could be worse. An all-SISTAHZ!!1~ final has been averted. Celebrations all around.

Yeah, that's the tough part with "the internets", hard to get your right emotion through. The thing is I like Andy more often then I don't like him. Murray & Roddick are the only tennis players I follow on twitter, because they can be funny and self-conscious on it. I was all for him to win a freaking slam, because this is a case for me that his talent deserves it. But he then goes and non-performs in slam finals, and it's annoying. I could half-forgive him for doing that vs Federer, cause he's the GOAT and all that, but this year's Australia? Unforgivable! So as much as I want Rafa to win, I'd be in peace with Murray winning IF he actually gives us a show in the final. But then when I consider poor Brits and all the hype they'll have to contend with... maybe him winning some other slam would be better. ;D

I see nothing wrong with Kvitty being so inarticulate. It's not like she's being pimped like the Next Big Thing and charismatic crossover star the way say VIP was back in 2007-2008, with disastrous consequences for all those involved. Machine translated Czech interviews don't give much more insight as the Czech reporters seem interested only in *gasp* tennis *gasp*.

I wasn't criticising Petra for it, just noting it from the journalist perspective. If I was assigned to write a personality-driven piece on her just off what she's said to date, I wouldn't know where to start....I have no idea what she's like, at all. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it saves us from something like the BAG swimming pool story repeated ad nauseam, it's just...a thing.
In a way it's almost exciting to wait and see what personality does emerge, because they all do sooner or later. People used to say Davenport was boring, and that Li was "mysterious", and those two became two of the tour's best personalities (as in, they have personalities rather than just ~glamour~).
