I know a lot of you disagree, but this is better. Maybe the era of the part-timers is finally ending. No, I agree. SEWTA needs some players to are great, care, and don't embarrass the tour every slam. As much as I may not tolerate Vika, she's consistently improved and seems to have ceased her mental insanity (on court, at least). And I hope the term "Aussie Kim" is never said again.

Petra makes the WORST errors of all players. #1?

I had a feeling Kim's run would end. I actually like her much better than Azarenka. But it would be a further embarrassment if she would stroll in and win this title after being pretty much inactive for the last nine months. She hadn't even played a tournament to completion since the French Open!
I'm also not at all sure this is the last time she'll play in Australia.

Sharapova had been handed this win on a silver platter by ESPN following set one, as per usual. But KVITTYGOAT may be ready to emerge. She's playing much better now.
Azarenka surely has a favorite. I think she'd rather play Maria for sure.

I just checked the head-to-heads:
Sharapova is 3-3 with Aza, but the last match Aza retired on clay leading by a set. What really made an impression on me is how Azarenka dismantled Sharapova in last year's Miami final. It looked easy.
Conversely, Aza hasn't beaten Kvitova in three years. The L at the WTA Champs was pretty close though.

Vika would definitely rather face Maria. In the 3 Petra-Vika matches I saw, she just gets bossed around. Although, 2 were on grass and 1 was Madrid thin air, but still.

Petra looks very strong on the forehand now. Also, I just realized what a Sharapova-Azarenka final will entail - SCREECHING! That mustn't be allowed to happen! No, no, no@!

Also, I just realized what a Sharapova-Azarenka final will entail - SCREECHING! That mustn't be allowed to happen! No, no, no@! Just? I am already prepped for the Loudest Slam Final Ever. Even more than Williams-Williams! OK, let's hold for the set here, please.

Okay, well...I don't know what's going to happen now. Petra did lose only FIVE points on her serve in that set, but it feels like time for Shiitra to tag in.

I don't know why ... it just didn't dawn on me.
I feel confident in Petra, though. That was a good set. She looks pretty good with the serve and the forehand and I think Maria's going to come off second-best if this continues.

That was a great service game from Petra. After the first point I started worrying a bit.

I'll start watching again if Bark goes up 2 breaks. Or, maybe just wait until she wins and watch on ESPN3. Yeah, that's better. I don't want to be angry.

So there we have it, months and months of talk about Petra finally taking #1 from Wozniacki, and now Wozniacki will lose it, and not even CLOSE to Petra.

Ok, men's side now. I hope SEWTA enjoys the screaming final. Not embarrassing at all.

Also if Vuvu wins, she will be #1 by nearly 1000 points. Who saw THAT coming?
Disappointing.
Not really sure who I want to win this final.

It will probably change hands a few times during the year. Don't be surprised if Ratwanska does at some point.

That ... is a hideous end. Petra had 15-40 at 3-3 and 0-30 at 4-4. I will give Maria this much - she did not choke on the serve like she normally does. That held up. I still wish Bark had won.
So ... the final. I'm worried Maria is going to win. And I don't even LIKE Azarenka!

Oh no no no no no this is not the final I wanted to wake up to Hideous. Hideous in every way. Putting an end to the era of the part-timers is the consolation, I guess. But...I do not think I can watch this.

(If I watch it I'll almost certainly end up rooting for Ma$ha, due to Vika being completely repellent in every way.)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Radwanska will not be making a Slam final this year. Her QF showed that she hasn't really improved, it's the same old faltering vs top players when it matters (if Kerber or Cetkovska don't get her first).

Really Fed? It only takes half a set for Rafa to get in your head?

Fed actually seemed a bit lucky to get away with that set in the end. Kind of feel Nadal's just getting closer to working himself to a win.

Wow, break to love for Fed at the start of the second. Amazing FH slice in that game. Back to the form of the early first set

Lulz and Rafa breaks straight back to love. At least Fed didn't carry on the pretense that he was gonna hold on to that break for the rest of the set.
