Yay, I didn't miss all the tennis! But Kvitty, how could you An all-screech, all-bitch Slam final! "Danger time for Federer" -- please don't fall away this quickly; I just got up!

This game looks like one for Rafa to break in. Roger started off by going for a silly backhand winner and naturally he erred.
Fed wins a great rally for 15-15 but the difficulty rate on some of the backhands he hit were off the charts.
Roger misses a dtl forehand. Another ball into the net. Shot is too flat tonight.
Roger strolls into the net and Nadal predictably crushes a forehand pass. Two bps.
First serve does not fire. Good second ball, though. 30-40.
Unbelievable point that Fed finished at the net. Talk about surviving by the skin of one's teeth.
Ace. AD in.
Fed works a backhand error from Nadal to hold. Well, I was wrong. You know, you have to hand it to him. He is trying and fighting for this set. I hope he gets it. Let's play five!

Nadal holds at love. I ask you - where do you think the momentum lies?

The Big Four matches almost always play out in the same way, it feels like we've been watching the same matches for half a decade now. We continue to watch because they're so talented that there's a lot of good tennis in that, and also for the rare incremental shift to tilt the rivalries like Djokovic made last year. quoted for truth. Thats why I'd really like Rafa to win at least couple of matches vs Novak, so it'd be exciting again (and he's my fave obvs). And why I wanna to se Tsonga and Del Potro to step up, they have the talent to do it.

The second point of this Fed service game is more of what I mean. Roger won this point but first he had to hit a huge forehand winner that almost nobody could have returned followed by a drop shot almost nobody could have reached. Rafa finally missed a lob.
Beautiful down the line forehand from Fed. That was a winner all the way and that shot probably cost him the third set. He missed four or five at critical times late in the set.

If Fed can win this set, it will be ... astonishing. Nadal is simply playing so very well.
Roger just hit an impossible volley. It gives him 15-30.
Roger has had no letcord luck today. Now 30-30.
Roger knocks a backhand return long. What else is new?
I ... am at a loss to explain Roger's shot selection. He slices a return and then rips a backhand down-the-line winner. PMac says it's only his 4th BH winner. That tells a tale, does it not?
Netcord does not aid Rafa. Allows Fed to whip a forehand winner. Now a breakpoint.
Roger sprays a forehand wide. It didn't look like he was in position for that. He clearly feels so much pressure on breakpoints.
Rafa does the same old serve and forehand winner thing we've gotten so used to. Now AD in.
Huge Rafa forehand down the line. Game.
Honestly, Rafa should not have gotten out of that game.

They have flashed a graphic asserting Fed is 31/52 at the net. That ... doesn't seem good enough.
30-30 now.

Devastating rally sets up breakpoint for Nadal.
Forehand saves things for Fed. For the time being. Deuce.

Nadal is racing around the court like a hyena. It's INSANE.
In spite of that, Fed wins the deuce point.
Rafa hits an amazing bouncy backhand and it's deuce.

Incredible defending from Nadal in that game, and he'll serve for the match now...

I strangely don't find her as annoying as Maria. I don't, either. Possibly because she hasn't been shoved down our throats for years and years by Madison Avenue, the WTA, gushing tv commentators, etc etc etc etc

It is the same damn match every time on a slow-medium court, but they never cease to amaze. And Rafa better shut up about his "broken knees" after running around like a madman all night.

I'm thrilled that Maria's in the AO final, although I like Kvitty a lot too and we all know Azza will kill Masha on Saturday. Tennis needs these matches to go back and forth to generate interest - and sadly, Azza looks to be here to stay and her winning her first Slam is a better story than Maria winning another one.
But I'm still rooting for Maria.

Like others had said, it was fun to watch even if you wanted Roj to win. I guess too much Fed-error at the wrong time. Rafa just doesn't let that happen.

Translation: "Let me get in here quick and put a jinx on Aza's chances, because The Cat's not around to do it." Okay, I'll see your jinx and raise you one: Masha will not only kill Aza, but after the match she will fling Aza to the ground and stomp on her head.
