These days, I like Pony and Tsonga way more than any of the Big Four. Now that I don't have to cheer Rafa/Roger/Nole on to any more milestones I think my loyalties will be exclusively with those two henceforth.I still find Pony ridiculously sexual. Thank you, I agree with this. Nole, Rafa and Murray just bore me to death with the neverending rallies and the attitude and I'm very much indifferent towards Federe - him winning the title would annoy me the least out of the top 4. However, I prefer Tsonga and Delpo over any of the 4.

Shitra held, double bagel averted

OK, so, Petra is mostly trying to avoid Shitra by hitting loopy, mid-paced balls to the centre, and whenever she tries to go for a winner she misses wildly. Bye then.

Respectable loss No such thing. She's the current Champion and she's playing a geezer! Not respectable to lose to SW.

No more "reigning champ" pressure. It's a good thing. Look how well losing Slamless #1 worked for Wozniacki

I don't think the pressure is responsible for Shitra. She's just been lazy and hasn't worked hard enough. She'll win more Slams but she's not going to turn it on just like that and we're in for a bumpy year or two.

I finally tuned in in this game, I see Petra can't even get the 1st serve in.

Parallels to Sharapova actually. Wins Wimbledon as underdog playing a flawless final against a former champ. Flop in the USO series but get it together in the autumn, and back it up at the YEC. As the favourite going into the AO, play a three-setter against that same former champ in the SF that you really, really should have won but didn't. Spend the rest of the year having "respectable" showings in the Slams but losing to any real contenders.

She'll win more Slams but she's not going to turn it on just like that and we're in for a bumpy year or two. It looks like Petra gained some weight compared to last season, and with her movement being suspect even before that, now she can't get into position more often, so more errors are coming. So her being lazy is correct.

Oh, I see Serena's serve is working. The title is NID then, so I can continue not bothering with this tourny.

Kvitova is one of the best returners in the game? Since when?

Didn't even get excited on SP. Petra's BP conversion history+ Serena's serving = NID that she'd miss it.

Maybe the loss at her beloved Wimbledon will alert Petra that something needs to be done.

Maybe the loss at her beloved Wimbledon will alert Petra that something needs to be done. Why would it? She lost to tournament favorite/GOAT Serena.

I had to "unfollow" the Wimbledon tweets. Too perky and chirpy. So unBritish! It's like they hired a California 15-year-old to do the job.
