For the women, I desire the following victors: Kvitty, Care Bear, A-Rad, Tits.
I predict the following victors: Silliams, Care Bear, A-Rad, Azza.
The men I am too confused about to care.

Does Shitra stand somewhat of a chance. At all? Someone say yes...?
Hmph. Go, Shitra.

I would, but everyone would (rightly) yell at me.

Well, she does have the one advantage of being 8 or so years younger. She does have A CHANCE; of course she does. Just not a very good chance. Does that help? And I'm confused about the men, too. Don't really care who wins any of those, except for Cilic, and that's just not possible.

The two dribbles of Hope we have:
1) Silliams' stamina isn't what it was, and she hasn't had a day off since today's three-setter; 2) They're very likely to be playing on indoors grass.

I'm way more optimistic than you bunch. Petra can do it. Don't be afraid of the ghost of Serena past.

Makarova's beaten them both this year. Anyone can beat anyone. It's the '10s or teens or whatever it is you call this decade, anything is possible.

Serena hasn't exactly been clutch at the slams since The Comeback. Though if she was ever gonna prove the haterz wrong, one would think it would be here.

I would like Lisicki/Kerber, Kirilenko, Kvitova & Paszek in the SF.
While I do give Serena the edge, I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that she's winning. GOATra has always shown up in patches - even in 2010 when she had to save mps against Kanepi in the QF and yet managed to play a close first set against Serena. If Serena's dropping sets to Zheng and Shvedova, Kvitty stands a chance. Ofcourse, the Silliams serve is insane and the bane of everyone's existence. But Serena's had weird/unexpected losses in every Slam since the comeback last year. Even if you excuse the CAKE loss last year, the losses to Stosur, Makarova and Razzano were all out of the blue. Serena may have the edge but this is not a certainty. Shitrena can surface too.

The only reason I give Kvitty a decent shot is because Serena's played two long matches before this. She's struggled with this situation lately. She also hasn't been returning well, so Petra should be able to hang in it.

Is Wimbledon retarded? No, seriously? If you have a roof, USE IT. It really looks like they only want to close the roof when it's not raining.

Jaw-dropping incompetence. Did they not look at the forecast today. Could they not have closed the roof in the morning so play could begin on the dot of midday. Funky Flo breadsticked Wuss in our brief window of dryness

Quality six-deuce opening game between Ferrer and Pony. Good to see Pony on my TV at last, not just a stream!

These days, I like Pony and Tsonga way more than any of the Big Four. Now that I don't have to cheer Rafa/Roger/Nole on to any more milestones I think my loyalties will be exclusively with those two henceforth.
I still find Pony ridiculously sexual.

On one point, Pony chased down a drop shot (in vain) and his momentum took him straight into a perfect hop, skip and jump on to and over his chair The knee's OK then. Ferrer is tailoring his game to grass better than I've ever seen before though. Haven't seen Funky Flo play for years, the serve and the FH are just as weird and awesome as ever I see.

Ferrer playing the perfect match, all these changes of direction and wrong-footers exposing Pony's movement. Pony wasn't even playing that badly until he got broken at 2-2 in the second - since then it's been a bit of an implosion.

Funky Flo into his second Wim QF, eight years after making his first as a qualifier, with a BH winner. Straightforward in the end, lovely to see.

I wouldn't correct you on this, but I was just looking at his 2004 draw, just to see who he played (d. #3 Coria in 2R so...yeah) and he was not a Q, he was direct entry. But, yeah. F Word Wuss.
