That should be decent, Lurker. With respect to the ever-popular French club championship, The four teams to have qualified for the final phase are the same as last year: Gnome-led Lagardère Paris Racing (defenders), got lucky and qualified through the back door -- they lost their match on the final day, no thanks to Santoro who lost to O.Rochus, but qualified thanks to a surprising loss by AS Bondy to I.Dodig and TC Bressuire. AS Patton Rennes 35, barely qualifying by edging Villa Primrose on the last day, thanks in large part to a 7-6 third set win by Gicquel over Serra. TC Lillois Métropole, led by the Rochuses and Ulihrach Villa Primrose Bordeaux, led by Serra (boooo) and Llodra.

Safin ain't coming
absolutely predictable, typical tennis player stuff, bad for all the people who bought tickets because of him
I feel bad about not caring, I never liked Safin and he got replaced by Gaudio, my favorite player. Gaudio, Fat Dave, Gonzo and Baggy are worth the tickets

Thursday
Moya Gaudio, a quite entertaining match, close three setter
Monaco Gonzalez, a straight sets victory for Monaco, he outclassed Gonzo. I hope Gonzo tanked the two matches he played because playing like this he could fall from the top 30. In spite of that, there was a big jump in quality, the difference between top 40 players and current Gaudio and Carlosh.
Nalbandian Moya
Straight sets victory for Fat Dave, he was great and broke Carlosh four times. Carlosh broke once but only because of a Fat Dave brain fart, netting three easy forehands in the same game.
Baggy Gonzo, Baggy trashed Gonzo, he should win this tourny. Gonzo was making those unforced errors he makes due to hitting the ball super hard, he wasnt finding the sweet spot with his backhand. It was something like 6263 for Baggy, the match was fun anyway.

Copa Tennislurker final D.Nalbandian def. M.Baghdatis 6-4 6-4 Interestingly, Gaudio did defeat Nalbandian in RR play. If I am understanding correctly, Gaudio, Nalbandian and Moya all finished tied in the group, but Fat Dave advanced to the final via the tie-break system.

I watched some of the Generala Universal Tennis Championships or whatever that Abu Dhabi exho is called yesterday. Camera angle is just about ideal, and the court seems fast. Stan vs Toad featured some fun ballbashing.

Final: Nadal def. Soderling 7-6 (7-3) 7-5 Didn't watch it. Exhos are exhos, but the court was indeed fast, so this probably means Nadal is in form. I should stay away from men's tennis for a while.

I think I read than the winner gets like 250 thousand dollars, for Rafa that is a tip, but for Sod, it is money, that makes the victory more meaningful than the average Exho match methinks.
I predicted that Rafa will lose to the first Youzhny category hardcourt/indoor player he faces, I will have to stick to my prediction
Perhaps Sod just had a 2003RainerShittler year, and he will drop from the top 10 like Gilles Simon

Hi Briny-I was watching Borg and JMac battle on one of those champions tours. It was sort of sad watching, and I wondered if Roger will bother with that someday. I can't imagine he'd want to play competively if he was huffing and puffing like that? But who knows. I mean it was lots better than the best at teh public courts, but nothing like it once was. What are they around 50, now?
