Beyond The Baseline @si_BTBaseline Azarenka jokes about Hampton hitting winners w/ injury. "I'm like, can I have a back problem?" It went over about as well as an anvil.
Stay classy, Vika!

So you can block out the tweets at the bottom of ESPN3 by keeping the control bar visible. THANK GOD! I've often done this, but the bar blocks some of the screen. Whoever thought showing tweets constantly needs to be fired. I agree. I should tweet them and say so! Ah, well, at least people will finally start mentioning Jamie among the other young(ish) USians now. It was great to be reminded that women's tennis CAN be fun to watch.

I hope that wasn't just Hampton's desperation level, though. I saw similar go-for-broke tennis from Martic in the KL final last year. I need these girls to bring it when things are normal, too.

LOL @ Serena being down 3-0 in the second to Morita before recovering to win.

The Wozniacki-Tsurenko match looks hideous. It's 4-4 and the stats are:
Woz: 2 winners/11 unforced errors Tsurenko: 6 winners/16 unforced errors.
Also, 6 service breaks in a row.

Tomic has had some stripes shaved into his head especially for this match Good heavens! I don't think this makes me a very good tennis fan, but I'm more interested in Mrs Krumm-Jovanovski and Aisam/Sofia-Elena/Paes than in the EPIC Federer-Tomic showdown.

This match is actually living up to the hype. Tomic is bringing it. He played at a ridiculous level at the end of that set and the start of the TB - and yet Federer somehow magicked his way into taking the set. Had to pull out all the stops to do so. Does the New Tomic actually continue to fight now?
