Schiavone was given a WC into qualies, was the top seed, and lost 1R to CAROLINE GARCIA

Fran Heh, Errani as top seed in a fast indoor tournament, and surrounded by Qs. Lose to Tsveti, Shitra, so I don't have to think about you.

Talking of flopping, it's not like I'm particularly pro or high on the Pliskovas, but given how fast the Paris courts are, how did LAV d. KrisPlis happen?!

What a terrible draw. I don't know why the WTA haven't killed this tournament off already.

Ack, already another opportunity for Kvitty to dismay us. There are a couple of mildly interesting bits in there, though. Kvitty vs Tsveti. Mona's there, Kooky Klara, Lucie. Could be worse.

CAKE in the QF against Mona who upset Vinci. Kvitty won a match!

Bertens def. Domi. The draw must have changed Bertens replaced Hradecka, then beat Paszek and Cibulkova. Yes, Petra beat Voegele, but word on the street is that she blew. Nevertheless, I will accept the quarterfinal over Bye/Walking Bye

Mladenovic is this tournament's MVP. Beating Gorgeous and Witchmayer in the same event is worthy of beatification.

Well, I haven't seen Vlad the Impaler yet, so I'm not going to erect a temple until I've confirmed she isn't terrible too.

And how did CSN lose to Errani?

Kvity losing to a junior. Or recent junior, whatever. Nice win for Mona! Is this the year Cake falls?

What a week for the two Kikis. What a shitty week for the Czechs.

14 months ago she was undefeated indoors. Today she loses to Mladenovic. I can only laugh.

Kvity losing to a junior. Or recent junior, whatever. I can't believe she hasn't even turned 20 yet! I thought she's already, like, 25. It feels like when Vaidisova was 16 for what felt like 3 years.

I know right, Vaidisova zoomed up soo quickly. I'm still shocked that people like Radwanska and Lisicki are the same age. Even The Hair is the same age.
I hope Shitra hits the ground soon. It'd be such a waste to yo-yo like Kuz or turn into a no-hoper like BAG.

Mona was nearly flawless today, impaling Mlad 6-1 6-4. I like her chances, but we've learned how Sara surprises us when we expect the least.

Can we dare to get our hopes up about Mona, then?

Yeah we already did that this time last year. The Real #2 hasn't won a match in her last 4 Grand Slam tournaments.

I've seen this Real #2 reference on TF as well - what's the background to this?

She nearly beat Azarenka twice during her hot start to last year. Plus it's funny.

I watched Mona over Kiki. She really has no weaknesses. Why can't she be good. Also, Kiki looked too pretty. Tone the Barbie stuff down a little so I can like you.

Of all the young players I've seen play I still rank Mladenovic at no.1. Big groundies, serve and very effective when coming to the net.

Well, she does like to come into the net. The bad news is she suuuuuuucked at net today. Like, she should never come in. Ever.
