She will, an inspired Cohen, however that looks(mega moonballs?), will just frustrate JJ into an error-machine.

No, JJ will NOT lose to JC. -- clairvoyant who swore SW would not win Olympic single gold & MS would never win RG

The return of Flavia Flav For some reason I thought her extended break was a prelude to retirement. I hope JaJa/Cohen is streamed, although by rights it should be a prime time international broadcast that every capital city should get the big screens out for.

Jankovic drew Cohen in R1 of the doubles as well C'mon, JaJa! A once-in-a-lifetime new low opportunity, to lose twice to Cohen in one tournament. I believe!

Honestly I totally forgot about Pennetta's existence and scanned right over her in the draw.

Pennetta wins her comeback match, 46 63 63 over Panova. She gets a pass for that scoreline because it's her first match back, but her BFF Fran gets no passes for being taken to 46 64 64 by FICHMAN

Oh, apparently that was Flav's 500th career win! Great for her. Attention Janie - we have a rare Brazilian win after Teliana Pereira d. Mooseburger. Who was the last BRA woman to win a WTA MD match? The only past players to spring to mind are Colosio, who ended Kournikova's career (did she even make it to WTA level?) and Menga, who posed for Playboy. Just looked them up - Colosio played two WTA QDs, including Bogota, and won a match in neither. But Menga won a round at the Sao Paulo Tier IVA in 2000! I have no memory of a Sao Paolo WTA event. In the final, Rita Kuti Kis beat Paola Suarez 46 64 75. Oh, I remember now, this was the year Dokic coined NWAPANWBAP about Kuti Kis, and RKK promptly won her first title Right, I'll stop Denising the BOGOTA thread now.

Oh wait the Denising isn't done. Looked up the Brazilian WTA events in the post-Menga years, and apparently some WC called Joana Cortez won a match in 2001, when it was a Tier II, beating (LL) Clarisa Fernandez. I've never heard of Cortez. Her CH was 204, attained immediately after this win.
So: Pereira is the first BRA win on the WTA Tour for 12 years.

Hint 1: do not check up only Brazilian events Hint 2: Meelis is a god
Making fun of Moose is just not as interesting since they've banned Cheo on TF.

JJ has just barely escaped a doubles loss to the giants Cohen/Malek. 75 67 10-8 was the final result.

Haha, I should have known Meelis would do the job for me. In his words:
Jenifer Widjaja reached Acapulco MD in 2007 as a lucky-loser (lost to Dulko). Carla Tiene reached Acapulco R2 in 2006 (beat Parra Santonja and lost to Grönefeld).
I am shamed.

JaJa's schedule makes no sense. She's in Kuala Lumpur next week and then back to the Americas the week after. And she was in Doha last week?

Pereira! LORD MEELIS x 1000 Yeah, JJ is doing the Early-Dokic schedule. And our Monica used to do the same, Ali!

Yes I remember Monica's insane scheduling, but it was usually too many consecutive events on the same continent! Atleast JaJa gets a ton of air miles, I'm guessing?

Julia Cohen is standing virtually off the screen to receive JaJa's second serve.

JaJa just lost a moonball rally. Cohen pulls back from 0-3* to 2-3*.

It's terrifying how evenly-matched this is. HOW is Jankovic a former No 1? Watching this you'd think she was an ITF scrub.

Cohen just hit a moonball that landed in the service box and JJ couldn't put it away. Cohen won that point and breaks back.
