Officially the best 1st week day of any slam. It could even be the beginning of the end for Bimbledon!

What's weird is that if I just read this result, I'd be sad. Federer's out so early, oh no! But actually watching the match, seeing the tennis and the opponent, I tried, but found it impossible, to root for the champion. Bizarre

Seles, who now plays tennis frequently for recreation, doesn’t see any similarly high-profile upsets happening on the women’s side. “I think the bottom half you have a Sharapova-Azarenka semi but you also have Kvitova and you can’t forget she won Wimbledon a few years back,” Seles said. “She’s a tough lefty player and on grass lefties have a little bit of advantage. There’s not too many floaters in the draw where you can say I’m looking forward to this third round match. Then again it’s Wimbledon.” ftw.usatoday.com/2013/06/jim-courier-and-monica-seles-played-tennis-in-a-manhattan-intersection/

Hard to believe this is still the same day we started off watching old-skool tennisiste Dustin knock off Hewitt. Like in a movie, we ended up with a different old-skool tennisiste knocking off Federer. By now, Sharapova's loss is like a footnote!
