Berdych wins 5 games in a row to stop Anderson in four sets. That's an impressive win. Pironkova closes out the third set 6-2. What a relief that she's won again. How is Stosur winning matches on grass? And how is she leading Lisicki? Flo to serve for the opening set against Haas. Hope Keys can get rid of Radwanska for us.

I don't think grass is that much a bad surface for Stosur... is it? Obviously not the best surface for her groundstokes, but then it's true for 3/4 players in the draw.

I don't think grass is that much a bad surface for Stosur... is it? Obviously not the best surface for her groundstokes, but then it's true for 3/4 players in the draw. But she's never made par 3R at Wimbledon, that's some bad record. Keys saved 5 match points on her serve in some spectacular fashion. Aga still wins on her own serve.

How is Stosur winning matches on grass? And how is she leading Lisicki? Twitter is all abuzz with Stosur's 2-0 record against Lisicki on grass. That is surprising! I wasn't aware of that. From the bits and pieces I have seen of this match, Lisicki bashed a bunch of shots long but Stosur used the BH slice a couple of times and came in to net and it worked. I don't think grass is that much a bad surface for Stosur... is it? Obviously not the best surface for her groundstokes, but then it's true for 3/4 players in the draw. The excessive topspin and kick serve aren't as damaging on grass from what people say. I'd imagine the odd bounces would be an even bigger issue considering how much she shanks on other surfaces.

Stosur's "slice" when she's rallying from the back bounce as high as a normal groundstroke. It ends up being a no pace shot that sits up more than a slice.

Swing and a miss - Stosur gets a bad bounce and swings in the air, missing the BH completely. Lisicki in control now - she's playing much better.
Riske loses the opening set but up a break in the second set against Kanepi. Hope she can win this!
Rooting for Dolgo & Haas in their respective matches.

I don't think grass is that much a bad surface for Stosur... is it? Obviously not the best surface for her groundstokes, but then it's true for 3/4 players in the draw. It is. She moves terribly on it, and it negates her biggest weapon, the kick serve that short girls can't handle at all.

Kanepi stayed in the zone from the Kerber match, I guess. She crushed Riske 6-2, 6-3. Haas is up 2 sets to 1. Na & Ferrer seem to have righted the ship while Stosur got hammered in the last two sets by Lisicki.

I don't blame Serena or her fans for being angry, I'd be too if I wanted her to win. But since I don't... I still remember Venus declining playing on a lesser court when they wanted to move her match because of the rain delay or darkness, maybe Serena is the same?
