Yeah. But Lisicki did serve impressively from MPs down. And now everything she hits goes in.

Too good from Lisicki. Sucks for Bartoli that she's woken up.

Wow, two nice points in a row from Sabine. Great winners to finish ...
Well, let's see if Marion can serve it out this time.

It's OK. Bartoli was clearly the better player today and Lisicki managed to vindicate herself somewhat in the end.

It was never a choke because Marion still played some great points, only Lisicki finally managed to win 3 points in a raw. Marion was still hitting great, and just needed to serve better.

Congrats to Cake and Bencic, but not sorry I couldn't watch much of Sabine showing how women really are just as tough as men.

I do wonder how Marion's run here compares to Sharapova's RG run. Damn, Sharapova's run was a little tougher on paper. AnnaK's table:

Who was the last GS winner who played 2-handed from both sides? Seles? She does look like her, too.

First two-handed off both sides to win Wimbledon. She got the one Monica and Justine couldn't. Great result, so happy for her!

Glad I tuned in for Marion's speech, caught the end of Sabine's teary one, too. I hope Marion was right and that Sabine will be holding that trophy some year soon.

Sciavone, Stosur and now Bartoli just prove time and time again, that you never know, just keep working and it might happen to you too.
And you'd think that Marion's and ARad's example would show to Woz that splitting with your Dad as a coach could be a very very good thing.

Ok, it was a very soft run to the title. However, at least she beat the players in front of her. The chance was there and she took it without dropping a set. She didn't freak out! She closed matches! We never see that anymore.

Marion's own example shows that it actually might happen again. I mean who thought after Marion's final in 2007 that she'll be here again and this time she'd win.

First two-handed off both sides to win Wimbledon. She got the one Monica and Justine couldn't. Great result, so happy for her! 2-handers should have lots of trouble defending and getting in the right position for groundstrokes on quick courts, but luckily she didn't have to face anyone who could really make her uncomfortable.

Ok, it was a very soft run to the title. However, at least she beat the players in front of her. The funny thing is that Bartoli had repeatedly proven herself able to beat the best - but not necessarily to beat just the people in front of her. So it's almost fitting that the notorious giant-killer got this kind of opportunity.

We never see that anymore. Off course, I would take Justine beating only players outside of Top 100 to win this one, and wouldn't care one bit. I wanted Sabine to win because her run was hard and very special, but in the end only win matters. We all laughed at Sharapova's run to RG, it seems only fair to mention Marion's run as well, even if posters here like her.
