Hey - do you guys want me to open up a new forum for this, or will this do?
PS: Wimbledon blows.

Accurate title is accurate, and I doubt we'll see much participation so this should do.

First day of Wimbledum: NOC

Boring day.
It's weird to still see Lucic around in 2014.
Krumm is still fit and playing good tennis.
Actually, I don't mind Bimbledon, I might even like it if they would drop the stupid day-off on Sunday. Since the end of Sampras' domination, tennis on grass is watchable.

Oh, the matches are perfectly watchable. I just can never get passed reading articles which tell me that this is every tennis fans favorite time of year. No. No it is not.

I'm convinced that the power of the twitter prayer featuring Janie, Ali and me, helped Rafa to get through his match today, so Yay, Cult! and thank you

You're all giving up on the cult for Twitter. And why do I have to read tweets at the bottom of the screen when I watch a match? (ESPN I think?) Twitter needs to die.

I was posting here all by myself for a while, which was stupid so that's why I slowly faded away. Twitter is so frustrating, though; you never get an actual discussion going on a tennis topic there. And you couldn't even do an extended "LOL at Kim" thing because Kim fans would butt in, and Kim herself might see it. But yeah, we helped Rafa today! Even though I saw very little of his match. Meanwhile the Wimbledon SB is exasperating with its Masha bottled-water ads and now Masha smiley photo every time I want to see scores. I feel like Jan Brady whining "Masha, Masha, Masha!" PLEASE A. Riske, beat that person! (though Riske shrieks, too )

Oh, and I also hate those tweets constantly passing by on the screen. ESPN, who cares what thought happened to pass through Andy Roddick's head yesterday? Stop it!

Talking to people who don't talk back feels just like talking to yourself, though!
So I tuned in to get a look at Konjuh, since I have been a fan of hers for a while. But Woz was keeping the ball so deep, Konjuh was just not able to hang in. But if this match is played next year, I say Konjuh wins.

Sorry, I don't have much to say.
Yeah, the tweets need to go. If I want to read TheBoiledEgg complaining about the schedule, I'll go on TF.

I don't see Venus winning 6 matches in a row, but an all Williams final is very possible now.

I couldn't get invested in the Petra/Venus match, cause I knew that whoever won it, will flop later to Peng or Woz.

Of course the only match going on involves 2 screamers.

I've been working like crazy which is why I haven't been here. Paire said he is happy to lose at Wimbledon because he hates it.

Ha, I saw that. I posted it on twitter the next day. Even Brinyi was lured to respond to that one!
So I just now arrived in BCTT and see this news that Serena lost?? To CORNET, wtf?? I don't know whether to laugh or cry or both. Why does God suddenly love Ma$ha so much?

Of course the only match going on involves 2 screamers. From the score I take it Riske was totally intimidated?

I think she lost 11 games in a row after leading 3-1. Typical SEWTA pattern.

Oh, Riske, what a weenie! Why couldn't SHE be the Cornet today? (Never thought I'd be typing that sentence.)
I would actually be excited about the possibilities with Serena out, if it weren't for the fact that all I can see is a road paved in gold for Ma$ha.
Still, I am ecstatic about the emergence of Diyas. It seems like years went by when we had nothing of that sort to cheer us up!

My only hope is that Masha never needed Serena to lose at Wimbledon in the recent years. She's been doing great on clay for years and then losing early here, so I hope the pattern holds true again.

It would be pretty crazy if Venus kept playing past Serena, but I'm beginning to think it could happen. Venus seems to keep playing because she genuinely enjoys the game. I don't think you could say the same about Serena. Serena loves winning - I'm not so sure she's overly wild about the game in general. The US Open will be crucial for her. If Serena's slam year is 4r-2r-3r-3r or something like that, I can't see her keeping herself motivated to play for all that much longer.

Yes! I have thought the same thing for a long time, that Venus loves tennis while Serena loves winning. But I disagree that Serena would ever leave the game with Venus still playing. Partly because I think Serena doesn't even realize she doesn't love tennis itself the way Venus does, and partly because her pride and her closeness to her sister would never let her leave Venus out there on the Tour while she sits at home.

I'm not sure, I think Venus is still playing just because Serena is. If her Sjogren's is as painful, difficult and debilitating as she says it is, then I doubt playing professional tennis is always 100% fun and rewarding, especially when you aren't getting the same rewards that you used to.

I never thought of it that way, but yeah, it makes sense. Her "big sister" thing makes her want to be out there for Serena. I wish we could know if that's the case, because it's a sweet thought.
But I do think she loves tennis enough that being able to compete at all is still very cool for her. With what she's dealing with, still being able to play well enough to be seeded at Slams might feel like a huge victory, and maybe that's enough.
