Elena will play at 11am tomorrow morning in Moscow. Midnight here. I'll try to watch. She won't play, though. I know it.

wtaworld post from tenn_ace re: post-match EB interview: Elena gave an interview after her match and said she this was one of the happiest days of her life.
She had a shoulder injury and spent 9 months treating it. She didn't want to go into surgery as she was advised. When she finished with the shoulder and started practicing she injured her back and spent another 5 months treating it. She started fully practicing 1 month ago.
She is now planning to play a lot as she needed to get her rhythm back. She is waiting to hear from Zurich and Linz organizers about WC's. And she sounded like the tournament in Belgium is a done deal. She'll play it!
While she was out of tennis she graduated from Lumumba Institute in Moscow (Used ot be one of the most prestigious institutes in the Soviet Union. I'm sure it still is in Russia) and her major is journalism, so she said she'd survive if she has to quit tennis.
LENA!!! MISSED YOU!

Nice to see she has an education.
I wish she would play some lower tournies, though. Maybe even some challengers.

I agree. But even going through qualifying would be helpful, if she insists on sticking to the big events.

I'm glad Bovina is back. And she seems happy. I hope she finds some decent form before the end of the season.

So, now that our champion is back, let's guess her future. I predict she doesn't win any matches in 2006. Wins her first match in 2007 in Auckland. Then, reaches the SF of Hobart. Loses 1R in Melbourne. WINS Pattaya. Your thoughts.

I wish she could win Pattaya right now and skip the other bits.
I hope she gets to practice some with the other Russian players, the ones who live in Russia, that is. Can't hurt to get in some practice w/ some friendly top-20 types while working slowly back into form.

I'm sure she's doing that already. Except I think she trains in Barcelona, now. Elena is very popular. She probably already hitting with all the Russian girls. Except the Faux Russian.

I disagree about Lena not winning matches this year. I think she might actually play some challengers in November/December. She said in her interview that she wants to play as many tournaments as possible so she can get match play in. That's actually pretty smart, IMO. When she's only playing one or two matches an event, weeks in a row of tournaments isn't a bad thing. I hope she plays some doubles this time around, as well. If she plays some of those shitty Florida 25/50Ks, she could do well there.

I doubt she'll play those winter challengers...

Elena would would be best suited to practice with Big Masha because Big Masha would bring out the fire and desire in Elena. And that's what Elena needs.

Elena wants to be friends with the Russian girls.
Unfortunately, Elena cares about being loved and is nice to everyone. I would take the offer to practice with Maria. Use her for a while to get to the Top 10, then club her knee with my racquet. And stick the other end up Daddy's rectal area.

Well Leelee I'm glad you also think Elena should practice with Big Masha. And Elena is starting from scratch in her comeback so she can only go up.

Elena knows she'll suck now. She was smiling at points late in the match. Plus, she should be used to this, as she's sucked after her 100 comebacks already.

I'm worried that they won't give her a MD WC, and in a fit of pissage, she refuses to play.
Sigh, refrain.
