Lindsay had the luxury of being fat so no coaches would touch her. Plus, she's good enough to win slams. Beebee isn't.

Lindsay doesn't win slams.
In 2009, ESPN2 will be airing feature stories and stupid intros on Lena, who will then be named Elena Martinez, on how she fought back from a life of physical, mental and sexual abuse, saw her ranking slips into the 400s, but came back to reach the RG final. Then, we can have a movie made about us: "Second Serve: Spanish Princess", about her story, and how she married a Mexican drug lord, and became his ghetto-fabulous love slave. Then Chloe would like her.

That was different.
Lindsay should be winning slams, though.

I told myself that, but then I watched her play her QF match against Christine, and any top 20 player would have beaten her. She's just God awful now.

No, she's unlucky.

In 20 straight majors.

That many? Wow... well, I guess she just does suck. Next question.

She's been on entry lists all year and has never made it to the starting gate. It would be nice, but I won't believe it until the match starts.

She was only on the Gold Coast list. And maybe Melbourne, but she withdrew long before the tourney started.

That's like...half the year so far.

Yes, but in previous years, she'd be on at least 8 entry lists by now.

Giant Barbie is the Anti-Kim. Kim says she can't play, then does, while Leena says she will play, then can't. I wish they would reverse positions in this drama.

To be fair, Elena has never said she could play. It was only her "agent" who said she might play in New Haven.
I hope she's in Barcelona. And training.

Her "agent" said playing New Haven was a 100% sure thing. The week before the event.
Oh well.

Updated (2/28) entry lists are out for IW and Miami.
Lena pulled out of IW on Feb. 14.
But, she's still on the Miami entry list.

Hey Janie, I like your Giant Barbie quip about Lena. ;D But I noticed you also got a dig in at Kim as well. Indian Wells is a good tournamnet for Lena to make her return to the WTA Tour because some top players will play their usual mediocre tennis in Indian Wells and that could open the door for Bovina to come back with a bang and upset a top player early in the tournament. For some reason Indian Wells seems to suffer alot of upsets in the women's and men's draws. And that could play into Elena Bovina's and Marat Safin's hands this year. I hope so.

She already withdrew from Indian Wells.
I really think she's done now. Or, at the best, is going through lots of mental counseling for bad things in the past. It breaks my heart.

Because I don't like talking about it. It seriously gets me upset. Call me a stupid fangirl who takes things too seriously, but it's very sad seeing this happen to someone you've followed since they were nothing. And know they're a sweet person that's been ruined.

That's possible. Although, if you add things up, the odds are really likely that she went through a tough time.

I'm sorry to hear that Elena has withdrawn from Indian Wells. I just hope that deviant Joe Guliano didn't somehow emotionally scar Elena like he did some other girls her worked with over the years. Has Elena really been the same player and person since she worked with Guiliano a couple of years ago?

Not that I know her well... but, others that did talk to her from early 2003 onward said she was very shy. When I talked to her in 2002, she was not shy, whatsoever. And in 2000 she was a boisterous brat on court, that always showed emotion.
Plus, her scary weight loss in early 2004. She simply didn't look healthy for a while there. Anorexia/Bulimia is usually due to personal problems... and that's probably true, as Elena's never been one to hide her physical assets.
Plus, that Joe decided to leave her at least twice... and Elena supposedly begged him to come back. That's really odd, since Elena was a top player that likely had many options for coaches.
And, let's face it, if he did stuff to Linetskaya and Snyder... both who aren't exactly model material... I don't see how he wouldn't with the leggy blonde...

Has Elena really been the same player and person since she worked with Guiliano a couple of years ago? Joe wasn't with her when she won New Haven, or during her great indoor season that year.

Yes. Then, I think she went back with Joe for a short time in early 2005. Then, she had no coach. Then, had that Pep guy.

Hopefully Lena will get it together mentally and physically and return to the WTA Tour this year. She's too good a ball striker not to be a good tennis player. But it seems other things are getting in the way of her return. As I've said in the past Leena, it's too bad you never got to coach Bovina. You could have made a difference. And she could have related to you.
