Next thing ya know she'll be designing fashions. I wonder how the knee surgery went.

My French isn't adequate. Is she attempting to become a soap opera actress? Oh, Justine.

No, just to appear in one episode. And I believe she'll be playing herself, thankfully; at least that's the way I (mis?)read it.

That is correct, Jeannie.

That show is apparently one of 12 challenges that Justine has to meet as part of a show called Les douze travaux, to be aired this spring aeround the time of RG. A few have already been done, such as the Anderlecht thingy.
The challenges are:
1. Be a model at a fashion show 2. The Plus belle la vie episode acting thingy 3. Participate in a practice session with the Anderlecht football club 4. Cook at home (she is apparently a notorious non-cook), the result to be tasted by a celebrity (perhaps singer Patrick Bruel) 5. Sing a duet with a popular singer, probably either Adamo ou Marc Lavoine 6. Participate in a quiz challenge on the theme of French popular music (she claims to be unbeatable in that category) 7. A Wii tennis match against an opponent yet to be determined, probably Olivier Rochus 8. Do live commentary on a sports highlight package 9. A skiing challenge not for her, but for Carlos Rodriguez 10. Be a hairdresser in her hometown of Rochefort 11. Her nieces and nephews, etcetera will give her envelope containing the name of a famous person they would like to meet. She has to arrange it for them. 12. A surprise.

So, it's kind of like...the Labours of Hercules, for celebrities? As ideas for reality TV shows go, that is...not bad! Which still doesn't mean that Justine should be doing it

If the Tennis Channel does not procure the American rights for this, it is WORTHLESS.

Ha, yeah, it does seems to be the Labours of Hercules for JH. It it's picked up in the US I'd rather see celebrities have to do the REAL L of H, like get Dick Cheney to clean out a massive stable in 24 hrs. But JH fixing peoples' hair and singing duets while St. Kim returns to WTA tennis just doesn't sit right with me.

Kim is returning to tennis because she is UNFULFILLED, because, oh yeah, she is a one-Slam wonder and is saddled with a baby and a lame (albeit surprisingly attractive) husband. Justine can do crazy reality TV shit because she has achieved everything she needs to and is satisfied with her life. Justine wins (as usual when it comes to Justine vs. Kim). Feel free to bump this in 13 months when Justine comes back.

I'd rather see celebrities have to do the REAL L of H, like get Dick Cheney to clean out a massive stable in 24 hrs. Me too. Come to think of it, that is what Obama is having to to the stable left behind by Bush-Cheney, metaphorically.

She's not coming back, folks. Sure, she could change her mind down the road, but she's not exactly vacillating about it right now.
She doesn't miss tennis and the desire hasn't come back.

Henin looks ahead, has no plans for comeback
By RAF CASERT, AP Sports Writer May 13
BRUSSELS (AP)—A year after her surprising retirement, Justine Henin feels the pain of competitive tennis every day.
“I’m broken. If it is not the knee, it is the shoulder,” she said.
On the other hand, every day offers the freedom to do what she wants, a release from the relentless pressure that ultimately drove her into retirement at 25 while still ranked No. 1.
Despite a flurry of players briefly holding No. 1 and the impending return of fellow Belgian Kim Clijsters, Henin is happy in retirement and has no plans of a comeback.
“It is truly a page that has been turned,” Henin said Wednesday on the eve of the first anniversary of her retirement. “It was 20 years of my life. Now life is something different.”
The seven-time Grand Slam champion is now a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. She discussed the humanitarian crisis in eastern Congo with European Union commissioner Louis Michel in his headquarters in the Belgian capital on Wednesday.
She’s also versatile. On Thursday, she will star in the “12 works of Justine Henin” on Belgian television, where she will train with favorite soccer team Anderlecht, strut the catwalk and display her cooking skills. Later, she will host a music show.
“I have been living in this bubble for all these years and then you fall back into real life,” she said.
That struck home in her UNICEF role during a visit in January to eastern Congo, once a Belgian colony and one of the world’s worst killing grounds over the past dozen years.
Women and children are often the main victims. For once, Henin was an unknown face among UNICEF officials on a fact-finding mission.
“They didn’t know who I was, so it had no impact on the contacts I had. That was great, because that was always a given in my life. When you are a public figure, there is always something awkward,” she said.
Henin plans to concentrate her UNICEF work on vaccination campaigns for children.
She may be little-known in Africa, but commissioner Michel knows Henin’s face will draw more attention in the rest of the world.
“Her contribution is a great antidote against selfishness,” he said. “When Justine Henin is a witness to all this, it is clear she has a much bigger impact on public opinion than I could have.”
Asked who will win the French Open, where she is four-time champion, Henin returns a blank stare.
“I haven’t really followed tennis anymore,” she said of the tournament that begins May 24.
Henin recently picked up a racket to hit some balls with longtime coach Carlos Rodriguez. But she didn’t want it to be misconstrued as the start of a return to competitive tennis.
“I hasten to add, just to improve my condition and stay healthy,” Henin said.

Fall back into real life... by putting yourself on TV a lot.
I'll say she's back in 2010.

Who'd a thunk, out of the retired Belgian Babes, Henin would be the one with her own cooking show.

Well she usually just follows what Kim does so a comeback in 2011 looks promising.

At least she stays in tune, and I'm assuming, remember all the words. That makes her better than half the crap on American Idol.
I don't understand why anyone would quit an illustrious sports career, to become a C-list celebrity like this, though...

Q. Who was your idol?
MELANIE OUDIN: Justine Henin.
Q. Why?
MELANIE OUDIN: Because she's proven that you don't have to be six feet tall to be No. 1 in the world and win so many Grand Slams. Her footwork is amazing. Just everything about her.

Meh, I don't like that most of Justine is getting the stigma as the "little girl that defied the odds!". She's 5'6, which is not abnormally short. She got really strong, and did so cleanly, of course...
Serena is 5'9. St. Kim 5'9. Capriati 5'7. I think it's more impressive that they still won while being kinda fat, and short compared to Venus and Leach's of the tennis world.
Or, is it just because Justine has no breasts. Maybe Ben Wright was correct. They just get in the way.

She sings better than Bepa. But Bepa looked hotter, so she gets the deal.
