Meh, I don't like that most of Justine is getting the stigma as the "little girl that defied the odds!". She's 5'6, which is not abnormally short. She got really strong, and did so cleanly, of course... Serena is 5'9. St. Kim 5'9. Capriati 5'7. I think it's more impressive that they still won while being kinda fat, and short compared to Venus and Leach's of the tennis world. Or, is it just because Justine has no breasts. Maybe Ben Wright was correct. They just get in the way. I think it's not only that she was short, but also so skinny, and it was obviously she had to work unbelievably hard to get her body in shape. Serena, Kim and Jennifer aren't much taller but they have different body types.

Agreed. It appeared that she didn't have enough weight behind her shots to hit with such force. I think the height factor is overstated.

Also, her monthly cycle never dramatically affected her. Ah, but maybe it did, during one Wimbledon final and another SF there. I KNEW there had to be some excuse for those losses!

I originally thought that's why she quit in the infamous AO final.
So, does Justine have a man yet? I thought that was the point of this.

Justine has ordered 14 racquets in view of her inevitable comeback, reports the Belgian network RBTF.

It would serve her right if she came back and got beaten in every final by Kim.
Why is she doing this to me. I was finally not caring.

I care every time I watch the horror show that women's tennis has become. Not to say there aren't a few good matches now and then, but it's maybe 1 good one out of 60-70 at a Slam.

I'm totally fine with just laughing at it. No stress.

Yeah, laughing is fun. But sometimes I kind of miss women's tennis actually being GOOD. Good as in one of those Del Potro FH ROSs in the final. It's been so long since a point has made me gasp that way in women's tennis.

BRUSSELS (AP) -- Former top-ranked player Justine Henin will announce her return to competitive tennis Tuesday, according to two top Belgian newspapers. La Derniere Heure and Le Soir reported the comeback Monday Her spokeswoman did not return phone calls and Henin's Web site had no comment on the rumors. Last year, Henin shocked the tennis world by announcing her retirement while still ranked No. 1. As recently as May, she complained that the sport had left her with so many physical ailments that a return was unthinkable. Henin, a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, has begun training again, but has refused to comment on plans for a possible return over the past month. At 27, it would certainly not be too late for a comeback, as compatriot Kim Clijsters proved when she won the U.S. Open earlier this month. Having played barely a month on the tour after 2 1/2 years in retirement, Clijsters won the last Grand Slam of the season, beating both Venus and Serena Williams on the way to the final. After Clijsters' victory, Henin praised her performance on her Web site. "What you have come to achieve there is incredible," wrote Henin. "Greenhitop and I very warmly congratulate you on your magnificent victory."

heh, mais non. She wants US to keep OUR fingers crossed on her behalf, which of course we are all willing to do for her. At times like this I miss Corswandt, who would be sure to make an acerbic comment right about now. I bet he lurks.

Justine Henin - Official page [FB] I've been practicing for a few weeks. I feel good on the court. My elbow doesn't hurt anymore. It's positive but let's go step by step... Thank you for all your support! ;-) I think she writes this stuff herself.

Yeah, apparently it's still painful to serve and hit a forehand. Painful for her to play, painful for us to watch. Now it seems so stupid, that she continued on playing that match as it did even more damage. Their new-found friendship and talk of playing doubles is disturbing to me. I preferred how Justine played when they hated each other. But Kim has been way more openly bitchy this season, that makes her more enjoyable.

The fact that everybody else blows has made Kim more enjoyable.
