Here I thought I had no shot with her. She selected someone MUCH uglier. Congrats! Than you and me combined!

I dunno, that's one hell of a lot of ugliness!

I dunno, that's one hell of a lot of ugliness! Not many can live down to that standard!

Granted, Radsex Sexpasex is still well uglier, if not MUCH.

woohoo Marti and Radek. I love when people choose 'genuine' rather than 'narcissistic'...

I hope Martina doesn't sleep around... knowing her, it's likely.

I'm trying to think...has she been engaged before? Magnus?
Man. You know, I guess she's never been shallow. Has she ever picked a looker?

Most of those different guys she had every week during her retirement were pretty cute. Usually older, though.

I guess I didn't hear about them.
I knew about the lawyer. He was old.

the ski instructor was pretty sharp looker...I watched her and Roger both at 19 years playing dubs together on TTC, repeated today, in Hopman Cup. Man that was fun. Marti was a great dubs player. It was the one long/one short sleeve year

Well she's playing dubs here at the AO. Which I was stunned to learn. She's playing with Sveta, so that should be fun for her, but I wonder if they've agreed to bow out if one of them goes far in the singles.

I got a good look at her ring, close up, after her Tokyo win. I had it on tape so I could examine it with my diamond eye. The ring is biger than I thought, a very old fashioned setting, ie not raised, looks substantial and maybe a family heirloom. I better check back, maybe you all saw the match. I watched it on TTC which full of treats last week If no one has posted anything, I'll be back with a comment or two...

Corswandt saw it, forgive mispelling: wrote: "Ivanovic plays a bit like a cavewoman at times ("Me hit big FH" - ball comes back - "Me hit another big FH"), which is a shame, considering she has above average touch and resourcefulness. Hingis played well. Didn't panic even when she couldn't do much but chase Ivanovic's rockets like a windscreen wiper or watch her second serve get blasted away (i.e. for most of the first set), stayed on the set and waited for her opportunity. Amazing touch on all those big shots she returned with reflex half-volleys. I agree. Martina, had lots of cute expressions of surprise in the first set when she won points, when Ana made ue's. It was obvious during the time Anna played her best, huge first serve, unreturnable groudies, nice touch at net, even good movement before her legs got 'heavy" that she has a game that played with consistency will not only beat lovely Hingis but should win her some Majors down the line. But once Hingis has stayed in it, and saw the lay of the land, I became confidant of the outcome. Hingis played her smart, love the way she gets herself forward and hits those overheads with agression and accuracy. That shot, played passively, was for me the sinature of her downfall the year before she retired. Anyway, its great to see her doing so well, and enjoying it so much! And I'll never be able to watch Ana again withlut remembering the cavemen!!!! Not that there is anything wrong with being a caveman (love those c.men geico ads) just not in tennis

I'm sure everyone knows this by now, but Hingis is coming back to the Tour, for doubles only. I look forward to seeing her add to her Slam doubles titles count soon.

Hopefully Davenport. Enough with the geezers' doubles; they'd be #1 and #2 in 6 months.
LOL I was thinking literally yesterday how no one posts in the player forums anymore and they should be moved below the archives.

Watching them in geezer doubles, they'd seriously be tough to beat. Martina definitely still has game, and she's fit.

I don't think Lindsay wants to play at all on tour anymore. That summer she came back to play a couple of events in California, she said she didn't really enjoy it (even though they ended up winning Stanford). I agree though, they'd make a great team.

Hlavackova/Hradecka are the dominant #2 team on Tour.
Davenport/Hingis would be pretty much unstoppable until a final against Williams/Williams. I'm sure they'd even beat Errani/Vinci more times than they'd lose.

I'd love to see that partnership, too, but can't imagine Lindsay schlepping THREE children around the globe to play doubles. Not in the cards.
Anyway she's starting out with Hantu. I don't think it matters who she plays with if she wants titles; she won them with all manner of partners before, including an AO title with 15-year-old Lucic. But I hope she'll play at least now and then with some of the young players; teach them a thing or two. And how about a tournament now and then with Mrs. Krumm?

I care. Hingis returning, even just for doubles, is the 2nd best WTA news this year, after MLDB's big London upset.
