So sad JHH lost. Well, I was much sadder hours before.lol. I wanted her to get Amelie for being so catty about AO. JHH had spoken about being tired in several interviews, but it was mostly mental and emotional than anything else. Good effort JHH. I was hoping to see her produce an impressive final, but I've never seen one from her. By the time she gets to the last day of a GS she is tired and soooooooooooooooooo nervous. Anywayz, next time It isn't so easy getting the career GS. Wasn't Dechy JHH's maid of honor at her wedding? Plus she hangs with Svetlana (which is really funny to me since she's friends with Amelie.lol).

Yeah, Dechy and JHH are great friends. I know JHH was at Dechy's wedding, but I don't know much about vice versa. Dechy speaks about Justine very affectionately, which is nice, since so few other players do. But that's the way it is with these introverted ladies like Graf and JHH. And that's a good point, JHH finally ran out of gas. 5 weeks of intense tennis in a 6-week period is too much except for young bulls like the Nadals of this world! She would have needed Amelie to stay subdued, or to choke, for her to have a chance to win.

Dechy and Justine were also good friends with Bovina. I don't know why I mention that.
Maggie can pout if she wants to. I also would if I lost to Caroline.

Bovina! Yeah, didn't she and Justine win a doubles title together once? long ago ... far away. Things like that don't happen no more nowadays.

No. Maybe because Justine never plays doubles at all, and Elena is MIA.

Everyone misses Sandrine! :lust: There are actually some neat pictures in those off-court galleries at justine-henin-hardenne.net. Dechy does pop up a lot, yes, but there are even some of Justine and Kim having fun...surely media-related, but they look friendly

I think JHH is a friendly girl on tour. She's just a tough business women, and some of these women are so emotional they can't handle it. Fed can be a tough business man and still retain close friendships but women can't do it because they are perceived as such and such, you get the drift.
Dechy looks absolutely cute in that photo.

No. Maybe because Justine never plays doubles at all, and Elena is MIA. I believe she quit doubles in AO 2003 solely to pursue her singles' career. Which is certainly understandable... but, her and Elena were cute together, and really good. Then, Elena won Tokyo in 2003 with Stubbs. Then, pain. The end.

No. Maybe because Justine never plays doubles at all, and Elena is MIA. What do you mean "No." She pulled out of doubles at the AO. Never played it again. And Lena went MIA two years later. End.

After a couple of deep breaths, she tapped in a 73 mph serve, then hung in until Henin-Hardenne dumped a forehand in the net. Mauresmo fell to her knees and raised her arms, the first Frenchwoman to win Wimbledon since Suzanne Lenglen in 1925.
She earned $1.15 million, and this handwritten note from French President Jacques Chirac: "Bravo! It was magnificent! What a performance, and what elegance!"

I like them. Nice attitude! Too bad no one else here likes these cuties: I was rooting for them to win the title! Andy and Vera played an excellent match, though, especially Andy. Still a great week for Venus, and good for her to see her mixed doubles commitment through instead of withdrawing and flying home after a singles loss like most players.

I'm ecstatic that Amelie won. It was a nice enough match to watch with lots of entertaining points. Amelie's finally put the burdens to rest and has estalished herself as the best player in the game. Justine is clearly #2, with a GS title and 2 RU finishes. Kim, with the only other GS title should be #3, but I guess that will sort itself out during the summer hard-court season when Kim starts losing points.

I feel for Justine fans and especially Janie, who I know would have loved nothing more. Justine's time will come, even on grass. She's got the goods to win Wimbledon and she'll do it in the near future. Considering the amount of tennis she's been playing these last few weeks and the phenomenal level that she's been playing at, she still put in a fantastic effort and came close in the final against Mauresmo. And hey, at least she lost the final to Mauresmo. Imagine blowing the Grand Slam (and Career Slam) because you lose 4 and 2 to Iva Majoli.
