Opole, Poland $25K
This event has a yawn-worthy field, except for our beloved Bahia M. So we will have to try to remember to dart over to Opole later on in the week to see how she is faring.

and my god, someone kick Czuck off the tour. I know! I used to root for her when she was coming up. Then I saw her on tv and totally lost interest. Now her downward trajectory is more remarkable than her upward one ever was.

Speaking of Brazilians, my beloved Fernanda Hermenegildo is seeded second at the Gugatown $10K and whooped a Venezuelan in the 1R. Her next opponent is LOPEZ-TERRIBIL Mariana (ARG), who you would think would be a pretty terrible player...

Who else is playing besides your Nanda and the Terribil girl, anyone familiar? (since you didn't say there was, I fear there must not be.) Did Bruna Colosio retire?

The usual Brazilian suspects -- top seed is the lovely and talented Joana Cortez. Did Bruna Colosio retire? How the hell should I know?

Yes, I'm sure Anna would love to see Bruna on a daily basis! Thx for the Sept. news, Binry, or whatever your dadgummed name is. I had not remembered seeing her name in months. And I always root for the Brunos and Brunas of this world. They sound so costaud and all.

I once saw Noorlander play! She lost a tight 3-set battle of double-two-fisted players, against Akiko Morigami.
Say, Akiko seems to have dropped off the face of the earth...

The latest word on the street regarding W.Prakusya:
"She's now resting her knee and doing some physiotherapy in Jakarta... She said she's affraid of surgery and prefer therapy.... She plans to play only challengers in the beginning of 2005. She will not play doubles in AO. Since the ranks are getting closer, Wyn might be touring the ITFs with Sandy Gumulya next year."
