The last ten or so minutes of this were the first time that I watched live golf in my life. Found it slightly surreal, particularly the crowd reactions, which seem absurd to an outsider such as myself - it's beyond me how anyone can find this exciting. It reminded me of those old, lame comedy sketches, back when chess was relevant, with the chess players silent and focused while loud, obnoxious cheering sections cavorted around them.

Actively watching golf features a good mix of vicarious living and schadenfreude. As a tennis fan, you should be familiar with that combo.

Mostly with the schadenfreude, which is all that is left now. Cycling I watched for the rolling landscapes. I never actually cared about who won. Golf I just can't see a reason why I'd ever watch it. There are so many other less boring ways of being a ponce.

Speech in Korean, just like on the LPGA! "Play golf, America!" Hope it enjoyed its 30 years of super-popularity. Lololz. I find it interesting that the only 2 male Corian golfers are weightlifting meatheads. We found the people that can defeat Tigre. Whites are pathetic.

Hilarious! I just found out and I'm gobsmacked.
I especially love that the speech was in Korean! It's just too perfect. :lmao:

Go ABT, especially foreign guys who don't speak English, amateurs, Phil Mickelson who's suddenly become a vegetarian, and all guys who've never won anything. Sadly, Tiger is only 3 shots back right now.

I hate this event so much. I have practically no coverage of the tennis event in Toronto due to this shit. Granted, if not this, it would probably be poker.

Whole bunch of boring at the top, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to watch it all weekend.

The tennis in Toronto isn't being shown in Toronto?? I thought they showed practically every minute of that tournament locally.

I know they used to, when I had the Canuck channels like 15 years ago.
I'm going to watch all of this tournament.

Some of these randoms are trim and attractive.
Not Rory. But I'm rooting for him too.

The television is telling me that this handsome person I've never heard of, currently leading by 3, has finished 7th at both the British and the USO in 2010. Okay then.

This tournament is overrun with fit, young golfers. A good thing. But, I don't give a shit which one wins now. Well, maybe Elk since he's old and hasn't done anything since the 90s and that would be funny.

I want to pee on golf this week for ruining my tennis coverage. I realize this urine would be better saved for the network, but peeing on an entire sport is easier than peeing on a number of huge buildings. I think.
Hearing there are apparently loads of hotties in the young golf world these days doesn't help because it strikes me as unlikely.

I wouldn't say any of them are hot. Just fit, like Tiger. We're not used to this.

And of course he bogeys a par 3 after I start barracking.
I'd also be very happy with Rory or Kaymer, as they have established themselves in Europe as quality non-flukes. Kaymer is also a total fox. Watney would be fine too because he's pretty. I'd even sort of be okay with Watson.
I'm not sure I'm rooting for random China, or these even lesser-knowns USians. I am not rooting for Elkingfat or everyone to die and Manboobs to win.

Please, someone, anyone, post a score better than M.B. McGee's, ASAP.
This could turn out to be a nightmare.

Casey posted a tie with M.B. I knew he was having a good round: I kept getting push notifications about all of his birdies Go away, Elkingfat.
