Urgh. They did not get enough runs tonight, and Dustin McGowan's control died in the fifth inning. This might be a long series for the Jays in Philly. Shaun Marcum starts tomorrow, and back to Jesse Litsch in the final game. They are having to thrust their young arms into roles they are probably not ready to play since Halladay and Chacin are down and Ohka and Towers are not-so-good. Also, this is a bad run for the Mariners suddenly. Three-game losing streak. Yankees lose to the Mets.

Wins for the Jays and Mariners; losses for the Yankees and the Red Sox. So uh, when is Clemens debuting for the Yanks?

Mussina blowz.
Burnett wins third straight game today.
Halladay is crazy, wanting to come back about four weeks' early from his appendix operation.

Report: Giambi failed amphetamines test May 23, 2007

NEW YORK (AP) -- Jason Giambi failed an amphetamines test within the last year, the Daily News reported Wednesday.
The newspaper reported that after the failed amphetamines test, Giambi is subjected to six additional tests for one year. The newspaper did not cite any sources in its report.
Giambi declined comment to the newspaper before the New York Yankees' 7-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night.
The Yankees slugger recently said in a USA Today interview that he was "probably tested more than anybody else."
On Tuesday, lawyers for the commissioner's office and the players' association held more conversations about a possible meeting with Giambi but it remained uncertain when or if such a gathering would take place.
ADVERTISEMENT Lawyers for Major League Baseball would like to talk to Giambi about comments in last Friday's editions of USA Today.
"I was wrong for doing that stuff," the New York Yankees designated hitter was quoted as saying, remarks some have interpreted as an admission of steroids use.
Management lawyers would like to hold the meeting as soon as is practicable. The failed amphetamines test most likely wouldn't be discussed at a meeting since MLB policy is to keep a first positive test secret.
Hall of Famer Frank Robinson took issue with one of Giambi's comments.
"What we should have done a long time ago was stand up -- players, ownership, everybody -- and said: 'We made a mistake,"' Giambi was quoted as saying. "We should have apologized back then and made sure we had a rule in place and gone forward. ... Steroids and all of that was a part of history. But it was a topic that everybody wanted to avoid. Nobody wanted to talk about it."
Robinson said Giambi should speak for himself.
"If Jason wants to confess, then he should come out and say: `I'm guilty. I apologize. I apologize to baseball. I apologize to all the fans that have supported me and supported baseball over the years. And I will clean up my act and promise you I will not do anything like this again,"' Robinson said during an interview on ESPN. "He should not drag others into (it), because when he says baseball, that includes everybody in baseball."
Before the Yankees played Boston on Tuesday night, Giambi was asked about a report in the New York Post that said the Los Angeles Angels had an interest in acquiring him. Giambi has a full no-trade clause.
"This is all news to me. I'm a Yankee," he said. "It's kind of fun to read. I never asked for it." --------------- Jason belongs back in California.

There's rumors that the Angels want Jason, and they really need a big bat.
But, his days of playing in the field are probably finished, fanboy. He can barely move after hurting his ankle.

Maybe. It's a difficult injury to fix.
He doesn't need to play the field though. He can still be a team hero.

The Angels wouldn't need him in the field. Their DH currently is Shea Hillenbrand. Giambi would be an enormous improvement. And they never need him to play first with Kotchman and Kendrick there.
I'd like Oakland to give him a shot. Yeah, they paid Piazza a lot of money to DH. But, he'll be injured again immediately when he returns in June.

After beating the Red Sox 2 out of 3 games in New York the Yankees promptly lost 3 straight at home to the Angels. It looks like they won't fire this year. And the American League has so many good teams that even if the Yankees do get it together from this point on they might not contend for the playoffs because they've dug themselves such a big hole.

Time for the Jays to sweep NYY tonight ...
But, since that would be glorious, it probably will not happen.

Indeed, it wouldn't.
But they won today! Halladay returned! After three weeks. From an appendectomy. That they said would keep him our four to six weeks. And he didn't give up a run. In seven innings. The man is crazy!

The Yankees have beaten Boston 3 of their last 4 games. Could New York finally be on the rebound? I hope so.

The Yankees won the last Boston series, as well. Didn't go too good after that.
And we'll be starting Fatboy Clemens hype, so I hope the Yankees lose every game.

I don't think the Astros are in that bad shape. We're 9 games under 500, we could easily go 9 games over 500 for the rest of the season to get back to 500.
0.500 would probably be good enough to win the NL Central

Lolz, Clemens out at least another 2 weeks because his groin hurts. Lolololol. Great stuff.
As for the Astros, I don't know. Your hitting sucks. And I don't see how it's gonna get much better.

That entire division should just die. Actually, I think it will take more than 83 wins this year. And the Astros won't get that many!

It sucks even with Berkman and his fucking short porch in left. MM Park is a complete joke, and I'm not even bringing up the hill in centre field. Clemens The Yanks look like toast.

They need a major overhaul in the offseason personnel wise and management wise.

Clemens unretiring again just so that he can be injured all the time and not actually play might even be better than him just fucking off and staying retired!

Jays win, Mariners win, and the Astros lose. A good night. The Jays might actually be able to solve their starting pitching problems - Dustin McGowan and Shaun Marcum have been really good so far as starters. They needed someone to be reliable after Halladay and Burnett, and they may have found them. Also, Jeremy Accardo! He's making the loss of Ryan not hurt so much. Those three guys have kept the Jays from totally going under in the last month. Now we wait for guys to get healthy ...

Did you feel that way when Clemens pictched great for your hometown team the Toronto Blue Jays for 2 years? By the way I don't blame anyone for getting on the Yankees about Clemens. Alot of Yankee fans aren't happy he's back. Especially at such an absurdly high ticket. On a side note it looks like Clemens will make his first 2007 start saturday against the Pirates if all goes well this week.

I reside in Arizona now. But, I'd like the D-Backs anyway as they have a fun, young team. They will be very good in 2-3 years.
I'm more of an Alexander Rodriguez fan, than a Yankee fan. He's sexy, super rich, and dominates at his profession. What a man. While I like that the Yankees are the Evil Empire and spend more than everyone else; the True Yankee (TM), America's Team (TM), Derek Jeter Clutchy Clutcherson etc... crap is annoying. And most Yankee fans are drooling morons that I'd be embarrassed to be a part of.
