Yelling at Carlos? Not a good sign.

Oh. My. God. How do you miss that on matchpoint?
Justine is tenser than a guitar string at the moment. She'd better close this out now or ... I fear for the future.

Clearly, if Serena wasn't injured, she would have won in straight sets.
How many times is the word "asterisk" being typed on WTA World right now?

It's not being typed in the record books Wins, please, for Ana and Sweater next. Justine, Cake, Ivanovic and Sweater = sweeeet fucking semi line-up.

Whew .... my heart was POUNDING!!!!
But Justine often chokes the first time she serves for a big match, then closes it out the 2nd time. I had faith in her!

Serena's backhand was all shades of shit today. The final statistics do not seem to resemble the match I saw today. Justine finished with 23 winners to 18 UEs, Serena 20 to 19. Justine had one ace, seven doubles. Serena made zero doubles and slammed seven aces. Sounds like a great match right? But it really wasn't. Serena's shitty backhand killed it for me. I'm glad she lost. She deserved to with the bullshit slices and crappy two-handers she was strokin'. And, Chris Fowler, given how established players like Kuznetsova, Sharapova, etc. are, can you stop referring to Russian players like an amorphous bloc (pardon the pun) that we know nothing of? I'm happy Justine won, but she was really, really, really tight. But I guess in the end it's the #1 seed defeating the #8 seed. Just as we expected.

I just had a horror image of Justine choking to Venus in the final. I hope that's the last time I have that thought.

Who is this robot on ESPN2? Chris McKendry? Huh? Where did she come from?
She speaks. With bizarre pausing in. Her sentences, and it. Bothers me.

I would love Justine-Venus in the final. People have been bitching about that record for years. I'll laugh forever when Justine puts it right in the final, and if she doesn't...she deserves that blotch on her record. HA. Nice disdain from P-Mac re: Bartoli in the SF.

On second thought, maybe I am missing the salient point of those stats. Justine had more winners, on grass, than Serena did. She really can stand toe-to-toe with them now.

Justine had as much control of that match as Serena did. I thought it was a really nice, clean match for two big hitters.

They were both serving, and returning, astonishingly well. There weren't too many long rallies; of the ones there were, Serena's BH seemed to hold up about half the time.

And both had their nervous moments, and both fought threw them -- I loved it. I loved that Serena didn't cave after the first set, even though she was clearly rattled again, like at RG. And then I loved the way Justine came out so strong in the 3rd after her choky 2nd set. You could see she was thinking of Miami and saying, That is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN! SHUT UP, CARLOS!!!!!! I WILL DO THIS!

In general, during the whole match, I thought Justine had the edge, EXCEPT, Serena has that great first serve. But after the serve, Justine's ball was consistently deeper. Despite the huge grunts emitting from Serena, her groundstrokes did not live up to the grunts very often today.

I only just saw the Nadal/Soderling beef! (http://youtube.com/watch?v=FXT6eWdc35E)
You know, I'd thought it was funny when I heard about it, but watching it...Soderling's kind of cunty.
