Please don't blow it tonight, Christine. Isn't one US Open title enough for your friend Sweta? You need seven!

Justine only has 1 USO... she has to win another. I forget that 4 of her 6 were at RG. I assumed more dominance on other surfaces.
I predict she's called Geraldine in the ceremony.

Go Geraldine, then! I've missed the final the past 2 years; the men's, too, because of being on vacation w/ no access. So I forgot all about this singing part, the flag, and all that. I was expecting the players to walk right out as if it were the Allentown final, I guess. I hope that part is over now!

I wonder how many times they'll show that Sharapova dog advert during the final. Alot. It's a cute commerical. But some people including Leena think Maria's darling dog Dolce steals the commerical from Maria.

I just realized that, by missing the final the past 2 years, I missed the Big Moment of both KIMMY and MARIA! What a lucky break! Justine is starting out pretty sharp as usual. I wish we didn't already know that she'll get nervous and shaky later on ...

So! The player from the heavy side of the lopsided draw came through. And that's the way it should be. But I hope we won't have such a crazy draw any time again soon!

Maybe more competitive than Wimbledon, at least after the first 4 games or so of the Wimbledon final. Because Justine was serving poorly, and a couple of games did go to several deuces. But Sveta just couldn't sustain any of her little good runs.

I just got home half an hour ago. I thought it'd be all over by then...what did they do for the first whole hour? The ceremony was crap though. These players have worked their asses off for the last two weeks, I think they deserve better than to be forcefed leading questions with a time limit on their answers. Sveta even had to interrupt DICK to get in a word about her coach. No time for a proper speech at all. And the cheque "transfer" was so tacky; are large, gaudy cardboard cheques out of style now? Why not just skip the cheque thing all together? wtf USTA get your priorities straight...though I'm sure in a few years this tournament will change its official name to "IMG presents the US Open featuring Maria Sharapova"

Another crap GS final. This year, all the GS finals sucked ass. I guess if someone put a gun to my head, I'd say the best GS final was...ugh....Wimbledon.
Kudos to Justine on toppling the House of Williams and winning 2 Slams in the same season. She's the undisputed PoY. Also, for winning her first US Open without dropping a set. She's now won her last three Slams without dropping a set - a bit Davenport-esque if you will.
