She didn't say anything about 9/11. She was talking about the Beslan tragedy in Russia. She spoke of both tragedies. Maybe, but it was about Beslan. Mentioning 9/11 was token, only done because of the American audience.

So anyway ... Justine won, and she deserved it. The final really showed the gulf that exists between her and Kuznetsova. Svetlana was not impressive ...
I don't know whether Venus and Serena can still be the best. Probably not. They might if they applied themselves. But they won't ... neither one is dedicated, and I suppose they manage to have enough success simply by showing up at Majors and trying to fluke a title. Why change?
I did get really sick of John and Tracy prattling on about them, though. Yeah, John, let's just seed them #1 and #2 forever, ok? Do you remember how well the selective seedings of 2004 went? Hmmm?
And yeah, the WTA HAS to change the ranking system because of Venus and Serena. Because ... "they would've been #1 a few times in the past few years." Uh, no. 2003 ... maybe Serena would've been #1 under the average system. Since then? Neither has been CLOSE.
Isn't it great that he can spend the entire tournament bashing the women's game for withdrawals and then advocate giving the two worst offenders in the history of the game preferential ranking treatment because of it?

well I expect Ted to be an idiot all around but John and the rest of 'em have totally lost it too. Let's use a floating divisor ranking where the divisor is min {x,y} where x and y are the number of tournaments played by Venus and Serena. Wait. they'd still not be tops. So lets make x and y the number of tourneys they played AND were "healthy" where "healthy"=one of them won. Oh and all ties go to Williamses. If they're not "healthy" in the last 12 months, everyone gets a ranking of infinity and we write off the entire season. Or we could just add 1000000000 bonus points to their total at the beginning of the year, you know for being who they are. Then it would be "correct."

Look at Justine's right arm! I love her Popeye-like right arm and ordinary left arm -- just like Laver.

I think Johnny Mac is told to be nice to the Sistahz, and the entire WTA when he's forced to announce women's tennis. Outside of announcing, he's ragged on Serena for as long as I can remember. Tracy isn't that bad with the Williams love. She'll be honest sometimes. It's shills like Maria Jose, Carillo, most of the ESPN bums that constantly suck on the Williams' teats. And let's be honest here... it's a Grand Slam, and a Williams in the half not containing Justine. Who do we think makes the final. I really want Courier to start doing women's matches. Dude hates it with a passion.

Tracy pointed out a number of times that she was holding her tongue about the Williams sisters this fortnight: "I'm not going to mention any names, [turns to Ted Robinson] but YOU can."

Carillo didn't stop going on about how great the ws are since I've watched CBS. Is it her sister who's the racist?

Look at Justine's right arm! I love her Popeye-like right arm and ordinary left arm -- just like Laver. Popeye has skinny biceps and big forearms. Justine has a fairly big right bicep.
