I thought Federer was going to roll him at that point too Still don't think its been a good match, though I'm happy with what the scoreboard has to say about it. A potential Federer comeback would be difficult to stomach at this point.

No offense but I think you are all somewhat naive about this matchup.
Federer won't "roll" Nadal ever again. He might beat him somewhere but no domination of any kind will ever occur again.
Nadal has Federer's number, for several reasons. First of all, Nadal is a terrific player (people still underestimate him). Then, he's a bad opponent for Federer because Federer struggles with high balls to his backhand. And he's mentally stronger and a better fighter. Federer knows all of this, thereby entering the match with a bad mindset already.
Which is also the reason why these matches will always be "disappointing" in a way, especially for Federer fans. Nadal does not allow him to play his elegant game, so it won't be very pretty. And some of it is Federer's own fault, e.g. putting easy returns into the net. But this is all the result of Nadal having put so much pressure on him in the past two years.

A potential Federer comeback would be difficult to stomach at this point. I think the scoreboard counts alot more than the quality of play. Nadal will never be the elegant and skilled player Federer is. But Nadal is possibly on his way to becoming an all time great tennis player. And who saw this coming a couple of years ago? I didn't.

I suppose that I've been guilty of building up Fed-Rafa matches in my mind to be way, way better than they actually are. And for the past hour and a bit I've simply been seeing it as it is, more or less. Though I've convinced this is worse than usual. .. it's probably not.

I hope this doesn't hurt Nadal's chances of taking the title today. ________________

I hope this doesn't hurt Nadal's chances of taking the title today. ________________ I was a little worried for Rafael Nadal from Spain for a while there but Rafael Nadal from Spain managed to hold his serve there, saving two break points which was encouraging. But, Rafael Nadal's movement hasn't really looked great since and Rafael Nadal has started making more errors than usual. I hope Roger Federer from Switzerland doesn't luck out here now and win his sixth consecutive "The Championships, Wimbledon" title in a row.

It looked like Nadal would break to go up 4-3 in the the third set and just about wrap up the title. But Federer came back from 0-40 to hold and the door is still ajar for Roger. Momentum can chance fast on grass couts. But I hope not today.

It was a sad day for everybody when his Parera was taken away from him I first saw him practicing with Moya in Toronto... I think that was also the year that I saw him play his first USO. Vicente in the first round, then that Swiss dude that Hingis used to bang in the second round.. and then I had to go home, which worked out really well. Sadly, he had already lost his Parera at this point.
