Yeah, she's a spoiled brat. I still like her. It also doesn't help that these women's majors have no drama and aren't competitive.

I hate to think what the tv ratings were today. NBC is probably vowing Never Again. Even though I'd like to see this Jessica character in action, I couldn't be bothered to tune in for even one second, with the result already known in advance the way it was. I feel bad for this Inbee person, though. This season she's having is outrageously spectacular; she's head and shoulders above everyone, more like the Tiger of old than like Annika. I just read that she's the first woman to hold the first 3 majors of the season since BABE ZAHARIAS in 1950 -- is that true? Sheesh, get out there and promote this woman, LPGA! They blew it with Ochoa, but they need to do this NOW. Pay the big bucks to bring in the best creative think-outside-the-box marketing types; do whatever it takes, but make this kid's name known.

NBC would vow never again, but the only reason US Open was on is because of their USGA agreement to show all their events. I don't think any other events are on any networks besides Golf Channel now, and even they rarely show them live. The LPGA couldn't promote Inbee Park if they wanted to.
Women's golf is dead here, until a pretty Anglo is legitimately good or some incredible story like the Williamses happen. This will happen to SEWTA eventually, as well.

By chance I discovered that the women's British Open is this week. Old Course at St Andrews. So this will be Golf Channel only, then? Maybe there'll be a stream. Not saying I'll watch, but links golf is fun. So I might.

ESPN has the British tournaments, and they were hyping Inbee during the geezers event this weekend. Her attempt at the slam deserves lots of attention, I hope she gets it.

I hope so, too, and this time I'll be rooting for her. And thanks for the ESPN info.

Lots of USians near the top after day 1. I'm rooting for Pressel.

Inbee not in contention, and Tigre winning by 100 on the other side. This weekend sucked.

And I finally was able to sit down to watch, only to find the British Open in a long wind-delay that ended up lasting all day. At least Tigre didn't hit that 59 he was said to be going for. At least, yesterday he didn't, and I hope he didn't today. Anyway, that golf course is one of his beloved favorites. I ignore this one and the others he's won dozens of times.

The sports world's first-ever Fifth Major was played this weekend; who knew? Ended up this way: espn.go.com/golf/leaderboard?tour=lpgaSo they can stop worrying about what to call it if Inbee Park had won 4 majors in a year -- is that a Grand Slam or not a Grand Slam?
