Nadal for the win, even though it's his first harcourt GS final and he had an exhausting SF, all of which gives Roger the slight edge.

After an exciting Saturday of eating stringable cheese and going to bed shortly after midnight, I look forward to an exciting Sunday of watching this and eating more stringable cheese.

Apparently a bunch of people I drank with tonight (all Europeans) are getting up to watch this shit. I...no. It's just too early.

I would probably wake up at that time of the morning to watch my mum play the final of AO. Federer and Nadal, no. I didn't watch the women's final either, and as far as I'm concerned, that match never happened.

I guess I'll be watching alone, then. Me and a zillion other losers. Woo!
It's starting at 530pm here, so I pointedly didn't make any dinner plans.

Some chick with an "I *heart* Roger" tattoo made a your/you're error on her sign. I'd like to punch her.

I am here too, Chole! No getting up early here, though, I am essentially still at last night's party :/

Is this what they call...'tennis'? I've heard of that.

My Fedtard flatmate is watching it! He's actually freaking the fuck out. It's kind of weird to see someone else acting like me I'm kind of sure he's Xristos :red: Anyway, I clearly cannot watch it with him, and I don't really care about this match anyway, and I'm still really tired.

I fell asleep for the second set. Oops.
Also, my laundry machine is broken. I know this because it spat out water when I opened the door. To make a long story short, I had no choice but to run it again in the hopes that it would drain properly this time.

This is currently... not that good. I may have to go buy some more "stringable cheese" once this set is over.

Rafa seemed to have the match in hand in the second, but he donated the break back with a weak game at 3-2. It's allowed Roger back in it.
It's clear watching this match just why Rafa gives Roger so many problems - he's left-handed. That lefty forehand goes straight into Roger's backhand corner and eats him alive on that side. Rafa usually gets a short ball out of it, more often on clay, and makes quick work of the point after that.
I think Roger knows that, but he just can't hit that many winners off his backhand. It's not THAT strong, though it is an awesome shot for sure. Still, he's gotta be aggressive, the slice won't cut it, and he's got to improve the serve. He might be able to win this match just by outlasting Rafa, but if he can pick up the serve it'll make things easier for him.

And with that, Nadal's 54th UFE in a row, I'm going to get stringable cheese now.

Nadal retrieves 0-40 deficit to hold at *4-4 in the third...this could be crucial. Some of those points were unbelievable.

Okay, NOW I'm going to get stringable cheese. I didn't want to admit I hadn't actually left previously. Ah, Hell, I have no shame... that wasn't it. I wanted to spare us all of 15 minutes of total EMO. Hurley is already dealing with that in his real house. No need to pee in our pretend house.

I'm not really overly invested in Rafa today -- making the final is an accomplishment in itself -- but it would be great to have Rafa WIN a HARDCOURT SLAM by BEATING FED. That's like Justine beating Willie/Willie back-to-back en route to the USO title: an inarguable demonstration of worth.
Having said that, Roger can very easily win this, especially since Rafa is...cramping I guess? Sore? And I hear clapping so clearly something is up. But I'm going to get a sandwich.

Although possibly you posted early in the third when I was in the bath. I posted it in the middle of the third just after Nadal hit three unforced errors in a row. While three points is not necessarily a reflection of the entire match, I needed to whine.

Hold up one minute...I need to ask what stringable cheese is. I am not sure I am going to like the answer.
