Anna-Lena. Whatevz. Lose when I start to heart you. K.
Jamea is a lot better player than I thought, though. She's really solid in every area. And very quick. I'm surprised she isn't in the Top 50 yet.

W.T.F. Why isn't Nadia playing Kim. Good question. Kirilenko lost routinely in her stead. Now Dementieva lost the first set 6-2 to Justine. This could fizzle quickly. Schiavone saved MP and bounced Mauresmo 4-6 7-6 6-4. And Dechy is about to drop the opening set to Pennetta. What an upset that would be.

How about Italy upsetting France in Fed Cup! Andy, Nadia was too tired to play Kim. And so Shamil Tarpischev threw Little Masha Maria Kirilenko into her first ever Fed Cup match against a hungry Kim Clijsters and Little Masha didn't have a chance against Clijsters who is much bigger, stronger and even faster than Kirilenko. The only thing Maria does better than Kim is volley and that's of little use on slow red clay. And choosing Kirilenko to play Clijsters on red clay which is Masha's worst surface over Safina on red clay which is her best surface made no sense to me. As for Petrova being too tired to play a best of 3 set match I am sad by this. And this is more proof as to why women's tennis doesn't deserve equal pay to the men in the grand slams. Can you imagine Marat Safin, Lleyton Hewit or Andy Roddick ever pulling out of a best of 5 set Davis Cup match because they were tired? It would never happen. P.S. - Leelee, there is something special about Anna-Lena Groeneveld. Maybe it's her beautiful and radiant smile.

"There was further woe for France when Emilie Loit and Virginie Razzano lost the doubles rubber 61 64 against Mara "Fishin' Hat" Saintangel and Roberta Winner to make the final score 4-1 to Italy."

I love Anna-Lena. She's sooo much like Bovina, that it's scary. Except than Anna-Lena is a better athlete. And has a better serve. But, Elena's groundies are bigger, and more consistent... in that her backhand shanks always go in, somehow. And, Anna-Lena is such a pretty name.
Also, it's official... Martina Muller is definitely the worst player to ever win a title. She's like Camee Pan in the "How the F does she ever win matches" with her shots. Her serve makes me cry. And she honestly tries hitting it.

Leelee, I like Anna-Lena's game and was impressed with her game even in losing to Maria Kirilenko in the 2005 Bejiing final in straight sets. Makiri played great but it was easy to see Anna-Lena should have a big serve in her future. She had a very good first serve in that match but Kirielnko returned so well that day. And Anna -Lena didn't consitently overpower Little Masha in that match and Masha out manuevered her throughout the match for her first WTA Tour title.
I hope Elena plays some doubles this spring to help her get back her fine form. She must feel so out of sorts having not played for so long.

P.S. - Leelee, there is something special about Anna-Lena Groeneveld. Maybe it's her beautiful and radiant smile. The men claim to be tired after three set matches all the time. There is this big logical gap people have trouble bridging. Tennis is not a job in which you earn hourly wages and amount of time spent does not correlate into amount of product produced (the product being ENTERTAINMENT). Therefore it's not relevant how many sets the women play in relation to the men. That is entirely something that DOES NOT MATTER. It is actually probably better that they don't for TV purposes. Five sets can also be poor from a quality standpoint, which is all that matters. It is only relevant how entertaining, and therefore successful, the game is. That can be hard to quantify, but the Grand Slams do not have an argument. Their position is misogynistic, their arguments specious. One should remember; this did not begin yesterday. The real reason is that the people who run Wimbledon do not believe women's sports should be accorded the same amount of credibility. They can't actually SAY that now so they've scrambled for other reasons, none of them effective. But effective enough to win over enough people who do not really think it through, I guess.

Agreed. And not to mention the amateur sports saw through this a long time ago. Nobody tries suggesting that women should say get less of the golden league jackpot based on a time based wage in races or a distance based one in field events

Funny how Europeans always like to proclaim their superiority in social issues to Americans and then you look at something like their Wimbledon/French Open stance on women's tennis compared with the USO which has been committed to equality for 30 years or whatever.

I was exhausted the other day after playing a single set of tennis, clearly that means women deserve to win more money than men at grand slams.

St. Kim in Fed Cup quit threat
U.S. Open champion Kim Clijsters hints she might skip Belgium's semi-final Fed Cup tie against the United States if the matches are played on clay. The July 15-16 series in Belgium comes one week after the Wimbledon final and on the eve of the North American hardcourt season.

PierceCheng said Amelie and Mahree were SUSPENDED?! Who believing are me?? He meant he would suspend them if he had his druthers. Who tell them lost the doubles match at the final? By the way, France lost to Italy 1-4 because Amelie Mauresmo wasn't leave the team. :red: So, her suspension period will be three years and she can't plays the additional match (their opponents are Czech Republic) at July. :red: But Mary can play because she finished her suspension period one year, also Nathalie Dechy lost the most important first time; so she can plays with Mary, Marion Bartoli, Emilie Loit, Virginie Razzano, Tatiana Golovin. :red:
