Ha, I guess V & S told them they wanted day matches. I don't even want to look and find out Bepa will also be only seen on TC.

They put the marquee matches on during the day during the weekend, when more people can watch. Still, I figured they'd put like...Harkleroad senior doubles on instead of Bepa-Flav. Anyway. Go Venus and Serena. Seriously.

CBS has total control over the schedule for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Agassi played Saturday / Monday during a decade. No surprise both Williamz play during the day.

Yeah, c'mon Burley, you should know night matches Saturday-Monday are secondary.
I was surprised that the Williamz half started on Monday, actually.

There's been worse night matches, especially on Labor Day. The only time Muster or Bruguera would play at night, and USA would immediately drop off at 11:00:00 for Wings reruns.
Looking at the potential Monday night schedule: Verdasco/Isner. And I don't know what women's match CBS would want to show during the day. None, if possible.

To Hell with the Murray Slam: DENTHEAD!
I watched Almagro and Nadal practice at the USO, years ago. I was supposed to go to some other match, but when I was sitting on court 4, my friend pointed at Almagro on the practice court across from us and asked "isn't that Nadal?" Now, from where we were sitting, you could not see faces, but still. I advised her that you could tell from the size of his head that it was definitely Almagro. Then the Real Rafa entered the practice court on the other side, and we spent the next hour or so there. Success!

Oh, I forgot the point of my Almagro-Nadal story, which was to relate it back to the match tomorrow: Almagro is a little bitch. I expect this to be unexciting and thus, don't care. See you Tuesday.

Cheering for the Williamses here doesn't say anything about them. It's because they're playing Ste. Kim and Hanturexia. Obviously Silliams will win, but...Venus. Is she really playing that badly right now? I think she is.
Really want Li to win!

Nadia's game can be really fun to watch. The one time I saw her live - Wimbledon '05 QF v Sharapova on C1, the crowd really warmed to her and she gave a thumbs up to some random fanboy mid-way through the second set. Everyone cheered. It was a hoot. If only she built on her RG '03 form, we'd be looking at a multi-Slam champ most likely. But whatever.
I haven't watched one full match during this Open. I don't even know if they're showing anything on the BBC. Sad times.

Serena has turned the turbo on serve and should cruise from now on.
Funny how soft spoken JMac is.

Going back to the discussion on women's tennis and looks that was going on yesterday, I like ballbashers, so I'd probably enjoy the sisters' game if I wasn't so grossed out by the way they look.

Cue Leena's "RAYCISM!!" comment.
Today is going to be pretty boring, isn't it. At least we'll always have the hilarious suckfest that was Day 6.

I'd completely forgotten who Serena's victim was to be today. So glad I didn't rush home from Slightly Larger Town to see that massacre! But I'm in the mood for tennis now, so I hope the men are being entertaining out there.

Corswandt will be banned at the other board for that comment.
I want to see Vee/Kim. Vee SHOULD beat her easily, like always. But, the knee OH THE KNEE we need to mention it 100 times during the match.
And Bepa/Flavia... although, if Delpo or Gael "Force" is still playing then, TTC will ignores.

You're grossed out by Venus? Most guys I know think she's meh at worst. While Serena is either repulsive or SEXAY.

Remember when Venus lost because Kim was playing really badly? Maybe it's going to happen today as well. I wouldn't bet against it.

Venus could easily lose, but I doubt her knee would be to blame, even though, yes, we're going to have to hear about it endlessly. But if it was really that bad, obviously she'd have withdrawn from doubles. I'm just not looking forward to watching her typical lapses where she can't keep a ball in the court; she can't afford those today. Meanwhile, I eagerly look forward to any such lapses from Saint Mommie.
I'd like to get a look at the Saint's kid, though. We always got to see Agassi's and Lindsay's kids, so why is Kim's baby being so secretive? I can't even remember if it's a boy or a girl.

question for people in the united states of amurrica: Did CBS stay on coverage of the Roddick match the whole time, or did they cut it off at the scheduled end?

They cut it off at the scheduled time, and the remainder was on TTC. Edit: Or did it start afterwards? It may have. All I remember is that CBS stopped coverage at 6, as scheduled.

Lolz the women's football match on ES went to overtime again.
Not that I'd watch Nadal even if I could. I'm going to try to find a livestream for Armstrong.

None for Armstrong, but found one for the Grandstand.
Gonzo played such a fun match vs Toaderling at RG, but this one doesn't seem to have much flow.

But, really, his name is Guy-El Moofee. It doesn't even make sense.

You're grossed out by Venus? Totally. I actually agree with those who say she's one of the few tennis players who actually has the figure to be a model, but that face. And that crass, hideous game, arms and legs flailing about. As for Serena, her "angry wrestler" shtick makes it impossible to appreciate the T&A. Of which there is plenty.
