I stopped watching when Sweaty broke my heart by senselessly losing that 2nd set. I should root for WozDen, though. It would be fun to have a player we could call a Great Dane.

I think I was supporting WozPush prior to the match. I must have been on drugs. This would be disastrous.

Why is Kuznetsova not #1. She makes major finals. She needs to stop it with the MORONIC losses which make up half of her year.

If Pennetta wins tomorrow, they'll cancel the tournament anyway.

I think I was supporting WozPush prior to the match. Unthinkable! Yeah, but...I mean, I don't dislike her. And now I remember that Sweater just pisses me off when she pulls this kind of shit. Seriously, even if she gets through this match, she'll just lose to someone worse when it matters even more.

By the way, I wonder what that architect is doing now, you know, the one who designed Sharapova's outfit and earrings and stuff. What a waste! Next time use your brain and design stuff for WozDen and Wickmayer and K-Bond!

It's not a bad match. I'll take WozDen's passive nothingness over some of the UE fests we've seen.
It's frustrating because when Sweta's playing well, as in the first set, she's so impressive. But that goes for all our top players, really. It's not that they're untalented, it's that they don't demonstrate it often enough in the right places.

Now it's Wozniacki's turn to fail to win the match from a winning position. Women's tennis is such a mind game.

This reads like a woman's tennis match now.
5-3 - WOZNIACKI BREAKS AGAIN! Kuznetsova has cracked, her game has completely deserted her and Wozniacki breaks to leave herself serving for the match after the change of ends
5-4 - KUZNETSOVA GETS A BREAK BACK! Consecutive forehands into the net from Wozniacki hand Kuznetsova two break back points - and she gets it at the first attempt when the Dane sends a forehand just long of the baseline (a challenge comfirms it)

Wozniacki stole the second set and opened serving first in the third and final set and led 40-15 on her sere then lost 4 straight points and all the momenetum she had. The way Kuznetsova is striking the ball is scary and I don't want Melanie Oudin to play Svetlana in the quarterfinals. It will be a night match as well and I doubt Oudin has ever played a night match before. The cat. It appears you are not supporting this particular Russina. I wonder why. What's your guess? If it's looks your wrong. I root for Kuznetsova against all players not named Sharapova, Dementieva and Kirilenko. And frankly I don't want a Kuznetsova/Oudin matchup in the quarters because they way Svetlana is hitting the ball she would overpower Oudin. And Sveta is almost as fast as Oudin is. This U.S. Open is all about Melanie Oudin for me. I trust that makes sense Hurley. In my opinion Oudin has a good chance to beat Wozniacki and just an outside chance to beat Kuznetsova. That's why I'm not rooting for Kuznetsova against Wozniacki. And Oudin's exciting run here at the 2009 U.S. Open reminds me of Anna Kournikova's great run to the Wimbledon semifinals at age 16 in 1997. That is another reason I'm rooting for Oudin.

Woz never cracks quite the way Sweata cracks, though. I wish she would, right now.

I wish someone would put something new in that US Open "fanbook" next to the scoreboard. I'm tired of seeing Mary W's comment:
21:04 Got my fingers firmly crossed for you Andy Murray. Sure...

Anyway the Pusher thing is just a Clark Kent disguise for Woz. She can become SuperDane and play aggressively when she has to.

Well...there we go. Pushniacki or not, she'll probably be a Slam finalist. I have no idea how she won that match. Sweta just alternated randomly between brilliance and dumbness, like always I guess. How resilient must Wozniacki be, though, to hang in there despite knowing how little you control the match.

And I'm happy for WozPush...she didn't deserve to be the only Top Ten player in history without ever having made a Slam QF.
Of course, a final? Yeeeeeeesh...
