If only Alyona had Kateryna's face and smile. You can't have everything. Although one of them should be dating Alex Ovechkin. ;D I do not want to see Roger Federer escape another grand slam without playing Novak Djokovic before the finals. Novak please don't blow the match with Verdasco. I canly only hope that if Federer wins the U.S. Open for the 6th straight year that he has to beat Djokovic in the semi's and Nadal in the finals to do so.

It's hard to believe Djokovic's level of play dropped so much in the second set. He's in a real dog fight now to make the semi's. Verdasco is playing much better and has all the momentum.

Nole saves a break point to hold for 1-1 in the third. Could be a crucial game.

Melanie Oudin is tighter than a drum as Cliff Drysdale would say. It's hard to see her beating Caroline Wozniacki tonight because Wozniacki won't miss enough to help Oudin the way her mistake prone Russian opponents have. I just hope Melanie can make it interesting in the second set but I have my doubts because she's so uptight tonight.

Point: W = "COME ONNNNNN" (that's ADJEEEEEEE in American). Point: L = I HATE YOU, MY BOX (dirty?). What would the cat think about Venus or Serena doing that? I would be okay with it and I've never been critical of players showing they are fired up. Come on? Big deal. Unless they are doing it during the point of course. And you never hear of other players complaining anymore about their opponents saying "Come On". And not every player can have the genuinely nice on court persona of Caroline Wozniacki. In fact very few do. Oudin si being taken to school by Wozniacki tonight. It's a needed lesson as Melanie needs to learn how to play against smart players like Caroline. Yanina Wickmayer must be fired up for Friday's semifinal knowing that if she plays well there's a good chance she will be in the U.S. Open final.

Well done to Wozniacki on making her first grand slam seminfal. But whover wins that match will be a huge underdog agains the S. Williams/Clijsters winner.
I always feel that when I see Wozniacki play that she has the size to do so much more with her game offensively that she does. She had a first serve tonight at 113 mph. At 5'10" tall or taller she has the size to serve big more often.
Oudin had a great U.S. Open but tonights poor performance will sting her for a few days. She played too deep and actually played right into Wozniacki's hands. Melanie needs to watch a tape of this match and understand where here court positioning against Caroline should have been on certain points.

"WHADDID I SAY!?!?!?!" -- P. Shriver, DBE What does DBE mean? I can't believe Pam Shriver said "Wickmayer" to Wozniacki and the crowd in a derisive way and then whined about the astute New York crowd booing her. When that happened Caroline looked scared like they were booing her which they weren't. There was no reason for Shriver to diss Wickmayer who's great U.S. Open run is just as good a story as Oudin's or Clijsters. Pam probably wishes that when she was playing she had Yanina's great physique. If she did Pam might have won a grand slam single title in her career.

I'll add a zero to your 1% and make it 10% chance Wickmayer hits Wozniacki off the court. I don't know enough about Yanina's game to know of she will step in and try to intimidate Wozniacki is seems happy the hit her groundies deep and wait for errors. It chould be a good looking semifinal if both play well.
