If Djokovic beats Fed, I think JMDP will win the final.
If Fed gets through, Pony will prob lose in four sets at best. Even if he did push Federer at RG, Fed hasn't had any problems with him on hard courts.

Well done Del Potro on making his first grand slam singles final. I thought he would win but I thought Nadal would atleast put up a fight. I hope Rafa can come back strong in 2010 and play all 4 majors in good health. But that might be asking alot because Nadal's body is 23 going on 33 or so it seems. That said think Del Potro will be a tough matchup Nadal in the way Nadal is a tough matchup for Federer. It's time for Djokovic to beat Federer again in a major.

Pony does look good, but watching Rafa play at half-mast like this is too sad to enjoy DP's exploits much. Oh, he wasn't injured. He was pretending so that this loss doesn't look like a real loss. Haven't you been reading MTF? Anywayz, I'm only annoyed because I'm convinced that DP will stink up a final against Fed, making me madz. Otherwise I'd be pleased with his breakthrough.

Why is Norm Chryst still umpiring matches, let alone GS semis? Jim Courier saw Norm Chryst this bald earringed chair umprire in the 1991 U.S. Open final against Stefan Edberg and said "Where did they get this guy"? I wondered the same thing then and wonder why is Chryst still so highly thought of as a chair umpire? Is it a USTA thing? He's okay I guess but he never stood out to me as a top chair umpire.

Ha, no, I never look at MTF. Sounds like it's a worthy mate to TF, though. Though the Challenger section of TF is a real Friends of Bumpkinettes paradise. Fed started this match sloppily but he became the old magic Fed eventually, and now I need to eat supper. Matches should not go through mealtimes!

I mean, Delpo was meh against Cilic, and he'd never take 3 sets ouf of Raging Backboard anyway. Unless Raging Backboard is serving like Agnieszka Radwanska. Fed started this match sloppily but he became the old magic Fed eventually Make that very sloppily. But Nole was meh as well and didn't take advantage of it. It was only very late in the 1st that the match picked up. The umpire and linespeople were dismal throughout.

OH NO!! I just realized, and shocked myself by realizing, that I don't think I hate Kimmie any more! It really helped that attention to her amazing feat of reaching the US Open final (and probably, championship) has been almost completely overridden, at least here in the US, by Serenagate. But the truth is, no matter what the media and the USTA were trying to convince us of earlier, Kim never was and is not now a huge star in the US. And somehow that fact makes it easier for me to just gawk at her astounding (after so much time away) tennis skilz right now and forget the rest of it. Even her hapless (he lost his Euro basketball job) goofy-looking househusband makes her less hateworthy.

Reminded me of the '07 final...good to see Nole playing well again. I thought he was very consistent, and much less impatient and erratic than in some of the matches I've seen him play this season. He played much better than in last year's SF, that's for sure, even though he took a set then. But the highlight of the day was seeing Del Potro tee off Raging Backboard's moonballs.
