Ooooops then, sorry Lee for making you aware of the score. Sens won in OT today ;D. Joe's looking good with his very long playoff beard. You probably won't want him to shave it off. That's OK! Usually I will peek at the result after a day or two but not on game day! I miss Nieuwy, he is very sweet! When he was in Calgary, he lived a few lots from my friend's house but I never had the chance to run into him there! *sigh*

Bad news Lee. Nieuwy is injuried in Game 6, as usual, he's injuried in undisclosed lower body injury. He'll be in Game 7 but might not be very effective, we'll see.

They were dominating the offensive zone in the last 10 mins. I thought to myself in the 3 min mark that it would suck big time if they got careless and got caught in defense, as it always turned out to be this way. And it did and I was so pissed. Damn, so disappointing. And Nieuwdyke played only 1:49, the injury is pretty serious then. The only good thing comes out of this outcome is, now I know who I'll be rooting for in the Final. C'mon Ducks, do what you always do, beat the favorite.

It's so painful watching Wade Redden's face after the goal! It proves that in a playoff game, every mistake is lethal. In addition, a goalie can single-handly change the fate of the team. Brodeur kept the team alife at 2-2 with all those saves while Lalime could not come up with the best, incredilble save. It's so sad that the last Canadian team in Stanley Cup final was Canucks in 1994.

From TSN.CA Nieuwendyk, who Burns said a "bad bruise in the hip area'' and who was uncertain to start, left the game after two shifts and did not return.
Burns said he saw Nieuwendyk with a tear in his eye during the first intermission and told the other players: "We have a rangy old veteran on the other side who'd love to help you out and he's got a tear in his eye right now."
"I think that pumped them up. Everyone rallied around each other.''
Burns said Nieuwendyk would need, "a couple of days of treatment and then he'll be back. He went out and tried and gave his all, it just didn't work.''
I desperately want to believe Pat was speaking the true! Oh Nieuwy

Redden worked so hard at the dying min to try to keep the hope alive. And it's tough for Lalime, cos he didn't have much to do at the last few minutes and all in a sudden, pressure is on. It's easier for Brodeur to focus as he's constantly under pressure. Anyway, what done is done, let's hope the next canadian team to get to the Final will also be the Canucks ;D . (do you believe that I still remembered Linden's expression on his face after we lost Game 7 in MSG that year, painful memory never dies . I so hope he'll get a ring before he finish his career, with us ).

There's a good possibility that Canucks will be a few steps further next year!
Both Canucks and Senators are young teams and if the teams are intact next year, the players will be more hungry for win.

The majority of the core will be intact for us. There's a millions talk about getting rid of Cloutier bcos obviously, everyone's pointing finger at him since he's no Giguere. But I don't think he'll be traded. Personally, I like him. He streaky as hell but I can't think we can afford anyone better, I mean, the vets are too expensive for us and the younger one would be as risky. So I doubt there'll be any chance. Speaking about Jiggy, he's on Leno tonite . Didn't he need to concentrate? Hope he won't lose his magic in the final.

Disney owned ABC, so he shouldn't be up on Leno ABC doesn't have a late night show like Leno. With Letterman's show base in New York and Leno's base in LA. It's logical that Jiggy's on Leno. It's a big promotion for the team.

Well, that I know, just yapping. I'll feel more comfortable to see Jiggy there after he won the hardware, but oh well. Since Leno's in S. Cal, I guess it's natural that he get Jiggy there since Jiggy should be pretty popular there by now . Of course, it's S. Cal, a wind surfer will probably be more popular than a hockey player

This has nothing to do with tonight's playoff game.
One of the best goalies in NHL history, Patrick Roy, is retiring!
Best Wishes Roy!

Roy! Can't say I like him, but he's a great goalie nontheless. You're cheering for the Devils . It's okay, its been nice cheering the same team with you ;D, but Go Ducks Go. And our radio ppl were all talking about Jiggy on Leno, said he looked like a beard Brad Pitt . I hate Pitt, so I said he looked better than Pitt. Ducks in 4, if not, Ducks in 5 or 6 or 7. Doesn't matter, as long as it's the Ducks.

Vera, You know that Maggie the monkey predicted that the Ducks w win the Stanley Cup [and win throughout the series]. She's been correct every time so far! GO, DUCKS, GO! I did see that on Sportdesk. I hope she's right then. Reminded me of the Anaheim Angels' Rally Monkey. Maybe Maggie the monkey is really the Ducks lucky charm. Too bad they lost today, it's the first time they lost Game 1 during playoff. But never mind, still so many games to go. It's okay Lee, you can cheer for the Devils for whatever reason, they just won't win ;D . Nieuwendyk is still hurt and the mysterious lower body injury. But ever if he played hurt, not sure if he'll be effective anyway. I hope he gets better soon but I don't really want him to play hurt, bcos it's no fun and it might hurt his health in the long run.

I worry because it seems more and more likely that what the team told the media about his injury is downplayed significantly. Teams always do that in playoff! I worry it's a very serious injury, not a badly bruised hip!

Well, I know what you mean. So hopefully, it's not that serious. I didn't watch the game so I don't know how he hurt himself and how serious. But if he can't even dress for the game, that's serious enough.
